That's not gonna happen, I think even R* know how bad the outsourced port was. The thing is, these are probably gonna focus on visuals, gameplay and fixes and stuff rather than new or cut content. So... remasters.

I would be happy if the game plays and look like something modern which i already know in a way, without having the constant feeling of being a boomer who stick to old games like there is no tomorrow.

Yeah, a few thousand comments vs 100+ million sales on GTA V alone, yup. Reputation on the line here fr

I mean EA and Ubisoft have awful reputations yet their games still sell like hotcakes. reputation != copies sold

I'm in two minds about motorbikes in GTA 3. On one hand leaving them out keeps the original feeling and on the other hand it can't be hard to add them in and it'll make it more immersive and I'm all for immersion.

If they did this it would effectively retcon a part of GTA LCS, so I say no

and... I don't get why? I mean yeah, GTAO isn't for everyone but at the same time, if it was "sh*t" it wouldn't have been this popular, and at the same time you can't blame rockstar either because it's making money. People (especially here and on reddit) often forget that game companies are still *businesses* and therefore they only want profit margins at the end of the day.

Other than that, imo all of their games have been great, especially GTA V sp and RDR2

Because I don't love GTA 5 like many in the gaming community. I think the game has a lot of flaws, and I personally prefer Watch Dogs 2. But that's just my opinion.

But yes, GTA 5 is still a great game. It still does a lot of things right. And it has done one thing no other GTA could really pull off - universal appeal.

Anyway, that was just to illustrate my point. Even me, being not so high on GTA 5, isn't harsh to the point of deeming the next R* project a failure, especially since we got RDR2 a few years ago. R* still has a very great track record.

Doesn't feel like it when reading literally every comment section ever.

You don't sell 20 million copies of a game 7 years after release by appeasing comment sections. They are meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Granted, as the saying goes, you can't please everyone.

GTA 5 had laughably low health NPCs that were made of glass while gore in Watch Dogs 2 was completely nerfed. Someone will always find piss in their oats.

Seriously? Re-releasing the same title 4th time in 8 years with no proper working rearview mirror in 2022?

They're re-releasing it for the 98th time because the game still sells like sliced bread lmao. When it comes to businesses, it's not the seller who's dumb. It's the buyer.

GTAV is still in top 10, top 20 selling list in PSN, Steam, Xbox store with very positive reviews. That's the reputation that matters. Not a bloody like/dislike bar YouTube. CoD Infinite Warfare was still the best selling game of 2016 after 3.9M dislikes. Any money GTAV makes now is pure profit and Rockstar is making sure they get even the last bit of it.

Yes, that negativity is more towards a specific release; and E&E was released before we knew about GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

Just questioning though, IF it's just the same as the original, let's say we're getting similar to the original PC versions in 4k 30FPS (not even 60FPS), how many here will still defend Rockstar?

They made one billion dollars in GTA V's FIRST THREE DAYS. They absolutely did not need gta online to stay "alive"

really love those achievements, some of them are not what i expected, sure, but i must admit that my expectations were a bit high. nice to see some mission gameplay tricks acknowledged, along with references to in-game stuff or mass culture, some of them are pretty creative, too! can't wait to see the trailer, so i can peacefully rest till release date

I'll still defend them because when it comes to *new releases*, they legit haven't released a bad game yet. GTA 3 to V, RDR1 and RDR2 - all great games. I don't give a flying sh*t about a remaster tbh

too secretive PR campaign.

It was Genius the road to Hype

Step 1) Leak possible remasters of the trilogy to prominent GTA community members a year before release

Step 2) Make a vague newswire(May or June) hinting vaguely at something special for the Anniversary

Step 3) News websites reach out "Sources" and start writing articles about possible remasters

Step 4) Apply for rating on Korean Ratings System knowing someone will find it

Step 5) Upload images of achievements and logos on your website knowing someone will find it

Step 6) Release a trailer with no info screenshots or gameplay footage and rather than have release date just write soon

Step 7) Delete all of versions of the existing games to get more press coverage

Because people want other stuff than the same 8 year old content.

EA and Activision make more than the entirety of T2. Sales and reputation are different topics.
