Definitive edition is a blanket term that means "the best version available". Doesn't mean it will be a full on remake like Mafia. However, since they're taking every other version offline, yes, it is the definitive edition because you have no choice

Mafia Trilogy, also full price. And that's with 1 game that's a remake, sure, but the 2nd one is a remaster and the 3rd is... as is pretty much.

Yep, if they do a decent job with all 3 games I will pay $70 for the DE (considering 3 games). Diablo 2 Resurrected is a good remaster, though not perfect if you are a D2 purist. It is a solid remaster at the end of the day. Its priced fairly imo. The price for GTA The Trilogy The Definitive Edition is entirely dependent on what we are getting, in relation to what I think is worth paying. 

 

And I want to know, the suspense is killing me, geesus.

Definitive edition to me means that If they don't do a proper remaster/remake now, then they will never ever do It.

When I calculated the conversion from the U.S dollar to AUD it worked out to be about $95 for the PS5/Series X. That's an awful lot of money IMO for essentially just three base games that don't have any DLC which these remasters have so I can understand why some people might be put off by the high asking price.

That's the main issue though. Everyone is saying they aren't worth the price... without knowing the price. Or the content for that matter. I don't expect DLC but other "cool things" like cut/beta content would be new. This conversation is a couple of weeks early is all I'm saying.

Liberty City Stories & Vice City Stories would be welcome additions. If they're using the title 'Definitive Edition' then they almost have to include those prequel games. I know they're separate, so them being the definitive edition of the original 3 games is technically true. But including those 2 PSP titles would make a full price worth it with little argument, I think. That said, free DLC/updates later down the line is a lot to ask and won't happen. But I can hope.

It's weird to think this time next week we'll see actual footage by then. Definitely been a painful and slow wait, I wonder how it'll be shown off. It would be cool if they brought back in that Rockstar woman narrator (the one in RDR2's gameplay reveal) to demonstrate the changes with comparison shots and stuff.
