It's not that deep... They'll have to show something eventually, they're releasing something to the public, aren't they? It's not like some government conspiracy where you have no clue what's happening and all you got is a reassuring speech...

Never claimed it's conspiracy, it might be marketing tactic with fancy wording and nothing significant to show because it could be same or barely improved visuals in 4k and that's it.

Phones aren't what they used to be whether you want it or not, even if you don't have the latest top of the line thing. Phones can run games much more complex than the original ports of the trilogy. There is zero reason to think it'll be the same. It's on you if you're expecting a full on RDR2/V looking remake as not even R* advertised this, but it's not unrealistic to expect significant improvements to the current experience, along with much deserved fixes and enhancements. R* said it themselves: "across-the-board upgrades INCLUDING graphical improvements and modern gameplay". Not even the original mobile port was advertised this way. There's been countless examples in this topic of titles released on consoles/desktop and mobile that weren't held back at all on other platforms, but I suppose that's convenient to ignore.

 

In fact, no one (regardless of what they think) is "more" or "less" realistic until we actually see it, so that "realistic expectations" argument is pointless. No one is saying you should expect great things if that's not your thing, but being 100% negative also doesn't make sense just yet.

 

As for the rest, it's very noticeable some people here (not all) haven't been through previous Rockstar announcements. They don't always launch information immediately at announcement time because they like building up tension. This thing is coming soon, we'll hear info sooner rather than later. I swear some of the newer members of the R* community will have a literal stroke if GTA VI takes as long to be marketed as GTA V after announcement. As mentioned, it's not as deep as some are trying to make it lmao. We'll be here in a few days/weeks with more info, trailer, screenshots and what not.

 

Regardless of the level of remastering, it's an absolute fact these games deserve it - the original versions have many issues on PC (mods aside, I'm talking about a plug & play experience), the recent console versions are the mobile ports, among many other things.

Pretty sure this is fake but even if it somehow isn't, I literally see nothing of worth here that makes me go "Hm yeah, this is definitely a remaster worth buying."

This is literally just the PC version with sharptrails, classic axis, and the frame limiter turned off.

Since they are in fact taking down the original versions, and did give a short notice about doing so. If the gameplay trailer doesn’t blow my mind, Rockstar and definitely Take-Two, will lose all credibility with me.

 

I can’t blame them for GTA Online, considering the rest of the gaming industry in 2021 being even more of a business than it ever has been (arguably). 
 

However for me, everything is riding on this gameplay trailer in relation to my opinion (there credibility) of Rockstar, and the publisher Take-Two.

I'm not as knowledgeable in these matters as a lot of people here, but has there ever been a legit video leak?! As far as I remember just RDR2 footage but that was like 2 days before release and retailers broke street date. They're wizards at keeping sh*t under wraps

The most I've ever seen leak was the RDR 2 map from like way back when the game was first announced

 No, it's not. Look at the Oceanica flippin. Its model body and reflections seem to be changed. Lights in the distance as well. It doesn't look like the Project2DFX effect.

I know it has already been posted, but I want to explain why I think it's fake.

This guy talks about the conversion from Renderware to Unreal Engine 4.

 Anyway, they said in the Unreal Engine community that there is no way to convert from a different engine to Unreal Engine.

I've also read posts in Steam Community asking developers who worked on Unity if they can switch to UE, but apparently it's impossible.

It's even difficult convert from an old UE to a new UE (no way you can from UE3 to UE4, and you risk crashes and unfixable bugs from UE4 to UE5).

 

So, how can I trust a guy who says it's easy to switch from Renderware to Unreal Engine 4?

As I've said previously, the current PC version is as good as it'll get so the room for improvement from PC to current-gen for "graphical improvements" is frickin' close to nil. And, again, graphics mods don't count because a small percentage of players could actually run anything substantial. These are 20 year old games where you wouldn't need 5 seconds to come up with 50 improvements you could make.

Yeah I remember the early map leak too and everyone thought it was fake! Turned out it was real, but I think that was a rare exception. Video footage-wise I don't think I've ever seen any leaked

Just... Stop. You haven't seen it and you're going the extra mile to justify something that Rockstar has already said isn't going to happen.

It is, because that is exactly what it does. It adds LOD lights and increases draw distance. If it doesn't look exactly like yours, it's probably because the mod is heavily customizable.

Is there any game on iOS or Android that could look really nice? All these phone praisers but honestly, games look like sh*t on these platforms. I hope that trilogy will make a change or even set a new standart of mobile gaming.

 

I was so happy when I first read announcement article, even imagined something like Mafia remaster, but then this sentence about mobile platforms killed the hype. Unless it's a nice version for normal gamers and downgraded one for mobiles.
