This video is describing realistic expectations and i don't think a lot of you will agree or like it. Certainly if that's all there is to it, then it's not worth to shell full price for these old games even if they come in a package:

I wonder how many pages less this topic would be if Rockstar released a trailer/screenshot along with their announcement like every other developer on planet earth does when they're rereleasing an old product with "enhancements"... y'know, like how they did it with V in 2014. Would have saved a whole lot of worry.

"did it with V in 2014" but didn't do it most other releases. Are you new to R* teasers?  We'll get a trailer soon, but first we gotta speculate to death row.

Because those were actually new products... This is a rerelease.  It makes no sense to release what is essentially a logo with no specifics as if it's a new game. Usually there's supposed to be some kind of hook to let people know they're serious.

how come there's no gta v on phones then, if they are better than ps3 or even ps4? is there any AAA game from at least last decade on phone?

I talked about this very thing a few pages back, and you are buying into a huge misconception here. Mobile platforms have come a very long way, and I can promise you that unless Rockstar is making This newest iteration of The Trilogy to be something to rival the development tech of GTA V, there is simply no way on Earth that the current gen of iPhones, iPads, and Android devices will in any way inhibit this game. Have you seen some of the games that devs are able to create for these mobile platforms? These are not the same platforms as the early iterations of HTC, Sanyo, Samsung, and Apple devices we saw back in 2010. The new mobile devices are serious gaming platforms, that can easily handle even the most beefed up versions of any Trilogy game. Even if they can't necessarily generate 4K, that won't matter, because they won't hold the PS5/Series-X/PC games back any, since they can just be scaled down for the mobile platforms. Trust me, there is no way that phones and tablets will hurt the big console versions of these games.

 Where did you get this idea that mobile is weak? I mean two of the biggest games right now are Fortnite and call of duty and they both run smooth as butter on my iPhone 13. I understand your reservations, but they’re kinda unfounded.

Graphics:

- 4K HDR 60fps 

- HD Textures

- Higher Resolution Ground Heightmap

- PBR Materials (Still simple though and close to the originals)

- Modern Anti-Aliasing

- Modern Reflections

- Ambient Occlusion

- Improved Shadows

- Improved Water

- Improved Clouds

- Improved Atmospheric Effects

- Full Map Draw Distance

 

(Most of the graphical changes are either necessary or included by the fact that the games have been ported to Unreal Engine)

 

Gameplay:

- Achievements

- Improved/Alternative Control System

- Improved Main Animations

- Darkel Missions Restored

- Full Dodo in GTA III

 

Other:

- Remastered Audio

- New Easter Eggs/Bigfoot

- Legacy/Modern Rendering Switching (Like in Halo Master Chief Collection)

- Bug Fixing

Btw, one thing a lot of people forgot about the other GTA SA "remaster" is that it was ported over to xbox360 from mobile.. This is being ported from PC/PS5/Xbox Series etc. to mobile a little later so clearly the benchmark used for the initial version is gonna be much higher.

You know you can make a game in Unreal Engine look like it was made 25 years ago... I'd say they're neither necessary or included but they can be expected if they want to push it to the next level. It's pure and simple speculation anyway

Or maybe people are interested in modern hardware? There's people that want to know about technology advancements to keep their market awareness in case they'll need a new phone so they don't get scammed or want the best product for their money.

Not really an excuse though, I mean it was still an official new version replacing the old. The sole reason why I don't have high expectations for this new re-release is that terrible PS3 / 360 port for SA... well that and the general state of GTA Online.

So, there will be some GTA III surprises in GTA Online soon. I thought (probably a dumb idea) about going to a few phone booths throughout Los Santos with a mysterious person on the other end of the line giving clues where to meet and collect “surprises” of sorts. Although, I’m sure whatever Rockstar is working on will be fun to see.

Alot of people already know that most of the modern smartphones get marketed as something new, which they basicly are not. Its not like the PC market were you actually have new hardware to put together like you want. But on smartphone, most of it is blablabla. Maybe something "new" which basicly doesn't deserve that word, or something actually new that doesn't worth to buy anway as the rest of that product is garbage. I spend a few months to actually find a smartphone that i am interested in to buy, because there are too many models which have a huge negative aspect and too many fake reviews or uselss reviews.

Gaming landscape is in a sad state of affairs when the release I am looking forward to the most is the remastering of 20 year old titles.
