Lemoyne outlaw
hi so i have recently been replaying a lot of rockstars games. and ever since red dead redemption 1. they have had random events. whether it was gang ambushes. or stores getting robbed. and even unique ones. and they brought them back in gta 5 in the same way. more gang attacks. atm robberies. even funny ones like the guy tied to the pole almost naked. starting with gta 5. they had some random events reward players with big stuff. like a woman getting carjacked. and if you bring it back. she emails you and sends you a free random suit. and another instance of a woman getting buried alive. and saving her gets you a lot of money. and in red dead redemption 2. they continued making more fun unique events. a lot of them are similar to rdr1. but there are some cool new ones. like saving a guy from a bear trap or snake bite. then going into the local town a few days later. and they let you buy one free thing from a store. there are so many fun events. so i was wondering. what kind of events would you want to see in gta 6? obviously they would be more similar to gta 5 with the modern day setting. wise_man, sefus and lynx09
sefus
Escaped Convicts, Scripted Car Crashes, Getting recognized by Civilians and them asking for a photo (kinda like in Saints row 3), etc. OREOBOREALIS, IsaacDK503, Copcaller and 1 other
t-p-d-a
In GTA V and RDR2, such scenarios don't feel like random events at all. The scenarios come 100% once and then never again. Like little mini missions. But I would like scenarios to happen in different places. And that the scenarios don't feel like small missions, but really "random"! Examples: - A thief is robbing you (like GTA 2^^) - Other robbers raid a bank - Police are pursuing other criminals (GTA V has already such system but they need to optimize, it's more like shooting than a pursuit) - Road construction sites ... Random road sections are closed for a few days. Opens again (Driver Parallel Lines (only a truck with a ramp on the side of the road) & Some 18 Wheels Of Steel Games had it) - car accidents (like GTA Vice City, Car hit a Ped) - Hitchhikers Rockstar can create special random events that can only be played once. But that totally outweighed in GTA V and RDR2. So small scenarios make a very lively world. I remember RDR in 2010 did a really great job with random events GTA-Biker
Algonquin Assassin
Honestly none. I miss the organic and free form approach of R*’s open worlds prior to RDR1. These “random events” are cool the first time you encounter them, but the immersion factor is completely shattered when they’re played out over and over again. I don’t know how many times in RDR2 I’ve seen some guy get kicked by a horse while he’s checking its shoe only to be killed or the horse just runs away. Or in GTA V seeing the same mugger rob the same woman in the same spot. It makes the game worlds feel fake, static and less spontaneous. It’s a good idea in theory, but in practice none of these have impressed me personally in any game they’ve featured in. I want the game world to feel truly unpredictable. For instance in GTA III car jackings, muggings etc aren’t always a guarantee, but when they do happen they feel special and feel “random” because they’re not being giving a specific trigger point by location. They just occur whenever the A.I aligns. In GTA IV fender benders between NPCs leading to fist fights again aren’t always a guarantee, but when they do happen it feels like it’s something that is genuinely occurring on the fly rather than a custom, scripted event being played out. I could go on, but those are just my thoughts. I don’t think they’re necessary, but that’s just me. Thomas Cavendish
A big fire incident, like the Braithwaite Manor in RDR2, in a 4 or 5 floor building, and you have to save someone inside. Kris194
60017 Silver Fox
Depending on where you are, i'd love to be caught in the middle of a gang shootout or a targetted drive-by (whether aimed at the player or a bystander). Just imagining doing some shopping only to hear one pistol shot, then another, than another, then a full on barrage of gunshots and realising that outside there are two gangs kicking off that will last till either there is a clearly defined winner, the police get involved or they just get bored (out of ammo?) and decide to call it a day. Shyabang Shyabang
Including the random events, I'd like to see events on special occasions such as parades and Halloween...
Dimitry Rascalov
I think it should be a random generated deal, playing out like 2 dozen different scenarios randomly continuously but different areas, gangs etcs. The city should feel alive and you shouldn't be the only one committing crimes. There should be bank robberies, armored car heists, car jacking, drug deals, gambling, and other various crimes going on throughout the city. It would also be nice to see scenarios like just every day events taking place like broken down cars, people playing in parks, construction work going on. It would be nice to have a more lively city. OREOBOREALIS
rdr2 did the random event well. Just modern version of things like that
GTA-Biker
I'd like to see real random events like in older GTA games instead of the scripted "random" events in GTA 5.They should return those small time thugs jacking random cars or mugging civilians on the street, people buying drugs from dealers like in SA, rival gangs starting a brawl or a shootout if they meet on each other's turf, random drivers hitting pedestrians by accident like in VC, maybe introduce some new but similar events like random drive by shootings in gang turfs, store robberies, people picking up prostitutes, etc. That kind of stuff would be more fun and interesting to see because it could happen anywhere and at any time, not just on one location only once. CynicalMexican
I want stuff like this. I want the NPCs to be extremely fleshed out in the actions they do during a normal day. NightmanCometh96

Yeah, it'd be nice to have a little more evidence that there are other criminals out there in the world. 1 hour ago, CynicalMexican said: I want stuff like this. My only problem was that there were a couple that were way too specific and happened way too frequently. Stumbling upon the drunk couple in the middle of an argument was neat the first time but lost its charm when I heard the exact same argument again a few minutes later on the other side of the map. Some of the stuff in that video though were things I'd never even seen or noticed before. That, to me, is how NPCs should be done. They shouldn't stand out to the point they're distracting but should be interesting if you stop to look at them. CynicalMexican
Middle Class Roadman
Just unique events that only happen once - I don't think they should show up on the radar either. I'd also like to see unique events that lead us to discover new characters/mission strands.
Copcaller
random drug deals, npcs or you being carjacked, hitchhikers who may reward or rob you. Cops chasing criminals and the ability to help the cop or criminal.
