Longshanks UK Posted May 21, 2003 Share Posted May 21, 2003 Hi all Just installed VC yesterday and as expected it turns out to be great fun. In fact im quite surprised(and happy) with how VC runs on my rather dated system.......a whole lot smoother than GTA3 ever did.My game runs great in every way apart from one....... Whenever it RAINS....if im on foot or in transport my character becomes surrounded by little bubbles!!!...(the type you get when you fall in the sea)....and as soon as the rain stops so do the strange bubbles,even though they still take about 2 mins to float off the screen. Now ive installed the 1.1 patch...even though i was experiencing none of the "spiking texture" type distortions anywhere in the game. Is there anyway i can delete the texture that makes the bubbles appear...im aware that ill also lose the effect when i fall in the sea,but rather that than being covered in these damn bubbles every time it rains. Or maybe you can suggest something better.....(fingers crossed) As i say everything else runs nice and smooth. Please help. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If so they are normal as they are meant to look like water running down the camera you are viewing the game from. Surly its not supposed to look like that?.....im talking about loads of bubbles dudes!...hovering all around me like some strange willow the wisps. Don't get me wrong,i don't doubt your words but i just cant believe that's how its meant to be...i think it looks awful. Could one of you kind chaps please post a screenshot of this effect just to make sure we are talking about the same thing? ...(i would but i have nowhere to host it) Cheers for your help guys...please post that pic. You don't really get things like that appearing in a game for no reason - there's not really any bugs like that. Is that what you are getting? If not - then post a screenshot of your game so we can see what's going on. The raindrops in that screenshot are what the game is supposed to look like. It would ease my mind to know my game is working properly...ive already reinstalled it once and was just about to again if i had no luck with this post. And from months of experience at being the Vice Master, I've approached several of these high-quality questions and I must say, they are mind-boggling. Here's the question: I know Rockstar included the raindrops on purpose, but how the hell can I turn off this effect? I've always loved the atmospheric weather in GTA III and VC looks to at least rival it, but those @$%!%& bleeding raindrops spoil the mood for me. Even if it's not possible to get rid of the raindrops (I know there isn't an in-game option for it), I'd still like to know. Perhaps this all seems a bit silly to some of you, but it's important to me, atmosphere is one of the key ingredients that 'make' a game in my personal perception.
