drcharm Posted May 21, 2003 Share Posted May 21, 2003 I hate this mission with a passion bordering on pure and utter rage. But finally, after nearly a week of trying, I beat it. It's not enough to work from the top down. You must go straight up to the top floor from the second staircase, all the way to the fourth floor. Going up all the staircases will just waste time. There is a shaft that goes from the second to fourth floors (think of it as an unenclosed staircase). You have to go straight up, turn around 180 degrees and the barrel on the fourth floor will be on your left. I hate this mission so much, did I mention that? I just couldn't get used to the controls but it didn't take me a week. maybe 10 attempts. EDIT:- I've completed all the other missions in the game but none took me as long to complete as that one. They just need to buy a PSone/PS2 pad converter, then they'll COMPLETE it very quickly. The word "beat" is so stupid, and completed sounds much better. Please, stop using "beat" to describe the completion of games. It wouldnt sound right if you said to your manager "I beat that task you set me." The people who find it easy have PS2 controllers. The logical corrollary with this is that the non-PS2 control system for the helicopters sucks, not that the player sucks. And to those who 'beat it first time' or 'beat it second time'. Try it without the controller, see how easy it is than. Or just stop acting like 12 year olds, either-or. With the default numpad controls. This mission reminds me of that racing mission for Mafia in terms of everyone having difficulties with it. drcharm Posted May 21, 2003 Author Share Posted May 21, 2003 Based upon the number of people who have reported difficulty with this mission, combined with a lack of similar number of reports on other missions, it is quite clear that with the default controls (ie without an analog controller) this mission is quite difficult. Yes, some people found it easier than others, but that fact that this is clearly the most complained about mission on this board is indicative of the fact that the mission is indeed, widely considered, difficult. If you didn't find it difficult, you must be so good, so important, so virile that any more reading or responding to this thread can only serve as a blow to your world-renown and uber-prestige.
