I honestly can't enjoy other games anymore...

Recommended Posts

RDR2 is so good that it makes other games look like sh*t. It raised the bar so high, I lost interest in all the games I used to play before RDR2. It makes GTA5 look bad (this is coming from a die hard GTA fan, I've been playing GTA since GTA1. I remember playing GTA1 on Windows 98 in elementary school so don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on GTA5). Can't enjoy GTA5, GTA4, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, any Assassin Creed game, Watch Dogs, Far Cry...and this list goes on. Witcher 3 is still somewhat enjoyable but still, RDR2 raises the bar so high that I just don't know what else to play. This is really weird!

i am in the same boat. this game is so good. that any other game is not as good. i have been trying so many new games lately. just to play something different. but nothing has come close to red dead quality. and to make things worse. rockstar has not yet announced a new game. so here we are waiting for something as good as rdr2.

I agree with you - but don't get me wrong - I do hate GTA V Singleplayer: Online Stories. It's the worst game in the franchise since '97.

With RDR2, I have gotten used to playing in crisp 4k (Xbox one X) with amazing graphics and detail. But it's not just all about the looks; even the proclaimed ragdoll physics in GTA IV feels outdated now compared to RDR2. The freedom, the living world, the AI, all the small details - no game even comes close to RDR2. Truth is, since 2018, I've have mostly played RDR2 and when I play other games it feels like something is always missing. RDR2 proved by far and beyond that singleplayer isn't dead in the gaming industry.

I really wish Rockstar would decide to add more content to RDR2, but it wont happen, and they have confirmed they're done with singleplayer. It's such a shame considering there is a huge, detailed open world out there just waiting for more content. I wish Rockstar would open modding for console, with a particular site for it owned by Rockstar, in a similar way Bethesda allows you to download mods to fallout 4 directly though the games menu. But that wont happen either because it will distract people from playing and buying content in online mode.

RDR2 is good, but after you beat the main story there's literally f*cking nothing to do.

Completely disagree. The game is actually BETTER after the story ends.

There is tons to do.

True, especially with more limited time to play, I don't find it inviting to play games of lesser quality. I always say that it's only R* that keeps me interested in this space otherwise I'd have dropped the hobby already.

For me, it's the best game since the first Red Dead Redemption. A little biased of course as I absolutely adore Westerns and every form of media and entertainment related to the genre.

I still enjoy GTA well enough. I'm hoping the next GTA puts us in 50's Golden Age America. Somewhere like Texas/New Mexico/Arizona. Give us more of that Western feeling. Of course it won't happen, but it's always been something I'd really like to see from Rockstar.
