Mainly because my Mansion is there... and in my mansion are a lot of useful things: Armor, Health, Pistol, Shotgun pick-ups..and hopefully soon, my bodyguards. Also, outside the Mansion are two free vehicles and a garage which fits two standard sized cars in it. Almost all of my hidden package reward pick-ups are to the left of my mansion too, which is very handy when in need. Furthermore, there is a Sea Sparrow in the back garden and a Maverick on the roof. If that wasn't enough, I have my own gang offering protection for me when I'm under fire. Perfect. That was just my mansion though! Other parts of Starfish Island make it great too. There is some lovely houses/appartments there which have plenty of nice cars to jack..along with a few cool Unique Jumps in the gardens. Beats every other Island! Like you said Gnobe, the 2nd main island has a lot of different activities and such, but the the other big one is so nice, and looks and feels more realistic, due to the bumps in the road, the alleyways and such... And it's basically located in the middle of Vice City, serving as a perfect hideout that allows easiest access to any important location. The island has a really exciting mood to it. Starfish is nice, but the measly $5,000 from the mansion is NOTHING, and besides, it's too small and there's not enough happening there anyway.
