Adrenalist
Look, I know R* probably has zero interest in doing anything for the Switch as it just won’t make them much money. But, I would like to bring it up. I’m finding the older games of less than HD picture quality is just more favorable to play on handheld devices now. Just hoping R* has it in their hearts to do some porting to the Switch, (such as GTA IV or anything earlier. Ever San An would be phenom). It would be a really nice gift to us GTA/R* fans. Adrenalist
www.polygon.com Quote Grand Theft Auto trilogy ‘Definitive Edition’ leaks in new rating 19 Rumored remaster to include GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas for modern platforms By Michael McWhertor@MikeMcWhertor Sep 30, 2021, 10:08am EDT A new rating for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition appears to verify reports that a remaster of the original PlayStation 2 and Xbox-era trilogy is coming to modern platforms. Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee, generally a reputable indicator of releases, recently published a rating for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition for unspecified platforms from publisher Take-Two Interactive. Take-Two has not announced the Definitive Edition release, but the publisher said in Augustthat it has three “new iterations of previously released titles,” which it describes as “ports and remastered titles,” in its pipeline. A remaster of the trilogy — Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas — has long been rumored. A report from Kotaku in August, citing sources, said that the three games are being remastered in Unreal Engine with a mix of new and old graphics, as well as an updated (but still classic) user interface. A Rockstar Games spokesperson did not provide comment on the rating when contacted by Polygon. Rockstar Games already publishes those Grand Theft Auto games under the title Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy for other platforms, according to listings on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4 and Steam for Windows PC. This hasn’t me expectant but very hopeful that we’ll see something for the Switch! Nintendo has reversed course on scrutinizing game content from third party devs, in fact they are the least censored console on the market now (i.e. Omega Labyrinth, etc) so content micromanagement would be the least worry here. Hope it makes it to the Switch. Couldn’t think of a better platform to revisit this universally loved series....
