Yes but the difference is that with GTA E&E, Rockstar announced a specific release date and have now delayed it to just a particular month next year (March) with no date given.  With RDR2, Rockstar said it would arrive “Fall 2017” then “Spring 2018” and then we finally got a specific release date of October 26, 2018 and they stuck with it.  A one year delay for RDR2.  This may be the first time I can remember that Rockstar has failed to meet a specific release date.

They likely had every intention to support the last gen versions for a while, so I would assume nothing, but it will be interesting to see a DLC that was intended for the E&E version. Might give us a glimpse of what to expect and the dataminers will likely find alot of information.

Not to be vindictive, but I am glad R* is getting universally trashed across the board for this. They might stand up and take notice if their golden cash cow gets a little sick.

 

People need to boycott them if that's the quality they are giving us, GTAO should at least be free for everyone.

I’ve seen very little exploding over the delay but over the fact it looks the same and they’re planning to charge everyone a third time (at least)

I wholeheartedly agree. They get away with way too much sh*t these days... but not this time.

It's really a missed opportunity.

 

They have a general challenge that they don't want to move people onto GTA VI when GTA V's Online is still briniging in money.

 

The most logical solution for me is buying GTA VI gives you a new story and adds a second island to GTA V's map. But you then have a problem that GTA V's graphics will be at least 8 years old (if the benchmark is the PC version).

 

What they really should have done was a major overhaul of the graphics by now to bring it up to RDR 2's standards and engine plus a bit more. Yes I know that's not quick or cheap. But they can afford it. And it would have solved all their continuity problems too.

 

You really have to ask what they have been doing for the last two years. If they haven't made serious progress on GTA VI behind the scenes then they need to take their thumbs out of their backsides. But if so, they would do better to tease that, rather than this non-event that E&E currently looks like. As I mentioned in another thread, quietly re-release for the new consoles, sure, but this doesn't merit a bit trailer or posting a release date that you have to embarrassingly put back.

Only worth getting for those who are on these consoles and have never played V before (somehow). Anyone with a decent enough PC and looking for something new in this old ass game should try GTA Redux.

What the f*ck have R* being doing since the E&E versions was announced? First we get PS3 footage in the announcement, and then A YEAR LATER we get some rehashed footage of gameplay we had in 2013 and Online footage of stuff and a property that came out years ago.

When was the last time there was such a big sh*tstorm against Cockstar? I think it's good that the gamer community shows what they think about this sh*t. Benzies and Houser certainly can't stop laughing.

Coming from someone who still enjoys this game to this day (partly because I am a member of an active racing crew)... that was one of the worst advertisements for a re-release of a game period. And as we all know, this is a re-release of a re-release . TBF, I do own several games that are just remasters of old stuff, like Borderlands and the Resident Evil series, but they were sold at a much lower price and they came with all prior DLC and some additional new content (at least with Borderlands). I see the latest trailer as a massive insult to injury, especially when we got that trailer last year using 360/PS3 footage, so I literally cannot comprehend why any video game company, let alone R*, would continue to poorly advertise any new updates/content when the first trailer they released for E&E was already poorly received. Why is it that to this very day R* is still afraid to show what they are currently working on until a month, a week, or even a day until it is released? It defies logic like there is no tomorrow.

 

At this point I am praying that we will all end up being at least somewhat wrong about what E&E will actually be like when it is released. I'm not someone who is obsessed with having the best graphics possible, but at the very least I would like to see GTA 5/Online not look like a game that was released over 10 years ago. And I believe this really counts if we are paying full price for the game again. I honestly don't think R* should be let off the hook for this, even if E&E turns out to be way better than what the trailers have showed us. THIS IS SH*T ADVERTISING, PERIOD!!!
