I can't believe I actually got excited about playing the new version on my Xbox Series X. What a fool I am. I guess I'll wait for what will feel like a lifetime until the next game comes out.

Rockstar is a greedy P.O.S company that has probably had the biggest fall from grace I've seen from any video game company. To think only 12 years ago they released two DLC's for IV that actually expanded on the game and offered a brand new storylines and features, now, they wont even bother to add features from online to single player. Gonna have to stock up on shark cards if you want to actually enjoy the game. 

 

Also, the graphics in the new trailer look sh*t. Did they accidently record footage on the ps3?

I can't tell any major differences, and I'm actually convinced this is supposed to be an insult to the community and player base.

There is a theory that r* splice up the sentences in the trailer to give hints. Saw it in a thread in here.

At least Cyberpunk was a brand new f*cking game made by a smaller studio, not a rererelease of a game that came out 8 f*cking years ago by one of the richest studios on the f*cking planet.

its really smart…port the same game in terms of technical specifications and then when you do it again do the same thing = free money x2

HAHA I just saw the two chairs bug, would my yellow plate theory be true?  It's a social experiment, it can't be Rockstar, it's too much, no one checks the trailer first? it's incompetence, it can't be true. Even the trailer has the flu, it's serious what's going on folks. I also have a theory that someone sabotaged it on purpose because they are tired of working on GTA 5 after so many years. Remember the devs who worked on Metal Gear Survive? They literally hid messages in the game (including an insult to the game's director).

Is there a retail price released for E&E yet? I didn't see one on any of the Google links, only videos showing the graphics and such. As for the thread title, lol I am all for using hyperbole to make a point, but let's be honest, most people haven't bought GTA V 7 times, and many who have purchased multiple ports, did so on sale. I can't speak for anyone else, but I paid full retail for the pre-ordered game back in 2013, for the PS3. I love the SP, but didn't bother with GTAO back then. About a year+ later I saw a sale on the PC version, and bought it for like $12.00. I think it may have been a Christmas sale or something, but I don't remember. I bought it for the mods on SP, and I won't lie, I more than got my money's worth! The mods on PC are a blast to play around with. Last year, June'ish of 2020, I decided I wanted to try GTAO for the first time. So I saw another deep sale on the PS4 version for a whopping $15.00. I snagged it, and lo and behold, it turns out it came with the free Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack. So good score on that. Zero shark card dollars, and a free pack that at least at the beginning of my GTAO tenure was very helpful.

 

So now, I am into GTA V and GTAO for a total of $59.99 + $12.00 + $15.00 = $85.00 USD. Not counting sales tax, of course.

 

Look, say what you want about recycling and regurgitating GTA games, and I can say a lot about how sh*tty I think Rockstar has been with the six million releases of the 3D Era games adding literally nothing new. So I get the complaints about that, and I think Rockstar/Take2 really ought to be more customer service oriented when launching new games. But GTA V and GTAO are completely different from where I stand. Over the past couple of decades, I have paid full price plenty of times for games and gotten 20ish hours of total gameplay fun from them. With GTAV and GTAO, I have gotten so many hours and hours of playing them, that I couldn't even venture a guess as to how many thousands of hours I have played, particularly since my $15.00 purchase last year has net me an ungodly amount of fun and entertainment.

 

So what's the worse deal? Some game I pay $69.99 for and enjoy for 15 to 20 hours, or the $85.00 I spent total on GTA V and played for thousands of hours in total over 8 years?

 

So to my way of thinking, if I have to pay another $30.00 to purchase E&E, so what? Not saying anyone else has to feel this way. In the end, it's your money, and only you get to decide a game's valuation. But even if the graphics aren't that much improved, for me personally, I don't care. I am absolutely blown away by the new content that Rockstar has poured into this game, culminating in Cayo Perico and Tuners. So the visuals of a 2013 game really aren't my top priority. But I absolutely can't wait to see what those crazy devs will bring us with E&E. I really am psyched for it!

 

But again, that's me. I see the other side of this as well.

Sure.

When the game got released on xbone/ps4, it actually was an improvement over the 360/ps3 version.

We got new content in story mode (wildlife, some DLC cars), and improved graphics (higher resolution textures, resolution bump, better lighting and reflections, it almost looked like a different game)

Mind you, I mean story mode, not online. I don't care for the online part where you look out of your penthouse window and see flying cars and bikes. Seriously, f*ck that sh*t.

For those who care about online, we got bigger sessions. (from 16 to 32 players) I seriously doubt E&E gets sessions with more players, I imagine they would mention that in the trailer but they didn't.

 

The only difference between xbone/ps4 and E&E we have seen so far is the 4k resolution for E&E (but still 30fps)

I didn't have very high expectations for E&E, but I didn't think running the xbone/PS4 version at 4k 60fps was too much to ask. Then again, framerates don't sell games.

When you take a square block and divide it into four you get extra pixels and improved definition, which is the basis of 4K and 8k televisions, which people totally buy into because they get improved technology and bigger screens, but when you take the same philosophy for an eight-year-old game and improve the existing graphics, it's a bit much to expect us to get excited about it.

 

So, we drive to the Redwood Lights racetrack to see the same scaffolding and construction equipment in enhanced graphic mode, LOL, which seems strangely perverted because it isn't actually updated or enhanced at all, but hey, the mud looks a lot more mud-like.

 

C'mon, Rockstar! It isn't enough to improve the existing graphics for an extra fee anymore. We expect actual visual enhancements at the very least.

Could be much worse, could be Cyberpunk or the last WWE2K game and played for last than a couple of hours due to just how broken it is.

 

But yeah, I see both sides of things too. Just I know with GTA:O (so long as there aren't drastic changes to lobbies etc), I'll get a good few hundred hours out of it, likely more. Much more than most games I buy. That's all I'd buy a game for. I care less about perfect graphics or the like.

 

Rare I buy games new anyway as I'm not one to follow fads or whatever's deemed cool right now, but knowing when I do that I'll get what I want from it is all good. GTA:O as is is more than enough for me. 

 

My days of bitching or hoping for more died long ago  RDRO basically confirmed things aren't getting any better than GTA:O aside graphics really. I just hope GTA:O doesn't take the backward steps that game took. Fingers crossed, but if it does, I've had years of fun here so of it dies for me, fair enough.
