Enemies bullsh*t hitscan accuracy

Recommended Posts

Does this f*cking piss anyone else off? How is it that some f*cking gang members with Pistols have military tier accuracy when shooting at you? Worst of all, GTA 5's f*cking bullsh*t engine actually lets them shoot you through cover around walls.

Yes it has been a trouble with this game ever since it was released in 2013.

NPC enemies will always naturally have aimbot, so that should be compensated by making them all have sh*tty shooting accuracy, but unfortunately I don't think R* ever cared about balancing them that much.

Its more aggravating to me how their aiming gets even more deadly when they're shooting from vehicles, it's like the game makes their aiming even better to compensate for the movements of the vehicles...or maybe they didn't even bother to make shooting from moving vehicles being more inaccurate, which I suspect they didn't do.

I don't expect that to ever be fixed, even on Expanded & Enhanced re-release.

Welcome to gta online

Been like this since launch

And they have rapid fire.

So god mode time. How you like it if someone else cheats r* when ur ai is bs.

Yeah, it can be frustrating, especially if things get leggy out there. But on most things you'll learn the worst of the worst pinches and get better at avoiding certain situations.

You wanna try some of the Doomsday Heist setups/finales, lol.

That, or you won't and be put off certain aspects. Or you'll glitch the game like Quinn above.

Corner glitch? You can use that to your advantage. Or play in 1st person.

It still amuses me that we can (and are usually encouraged to) equip suppressors on our weapons... but NPCs / enemies still react as if you're setting off a high-yield nuclear bomb.

Oh, and the recent Union Depository Contract showed a new level of Spidey-sense from the enemies in the office/apartment (elevator key). If your targeting reticule so much as brushes any part of their body (even if it's their elbow as they stand facing away from you around a corner) then they'll all be alerted.

Just Rockstar NPC things...

For me the worst part of all this is when the enmy NPCs are in cars or helicopters. At least on foot they have the decency to crumble when they're hit (and getting damage resistance upon doing so, bu tat least it stops them from shooting you). When you're doing drive bys you can't auto aim but they can do so freely, even if the car or helicopter is spinnign around like a god damned tornado.

The other sh*t part of their nature is how fast they respawn if you take out a group of NPCs. Such as set of helicopters. Not even FIVE SECONDS after blowing up the two helicopter and BLAMOM two new copters up your ass. And don't even get me started on BS spawning ahead of you every god damn time.

Instead of writing better and more advanced AI that can use tactics they just up the accuracy and health every Update.

You ever seen an enemy using the guns on a Buzzard? Next time look and you will see that they can literally defy the games code to make them shoot sideways or down even if the nose is pointing upwards. Instead of writing good pilot AI they just gave them hacks.

I wish there was an option to mute the annoying ass NPCs as well, it's very infuriating to attempt to do something when all you hear it "AHHHHHH IM GONNA f*ckIN KILL YOUUUUUU" every 12 seconds

Speaking of bullsh*t aim: What are these NPCs in the Union Depository?

I stick my head out for half a second to shoot at one guy, get lit up by 8 rifles and 2 pistols, who oblitearate my full health and I drop dead.

Enemies also have no reaction time, they are basically programmed to (figuratively) have a laser coming out of their weapon, if the laser is broken then they don't fire but the literal nanosecond the laser reaches you then they fire and seeing as the game has no travel time for bullets the shot always hits. Even if it's through a tiny gap between two planks or even gaps in models for stuff you are hidden behind.

Yep, in SP they were fine. Then in GTA O, where you actually have less health points and armor lasts merely a second anyway, they made enemies tanks that can snipe you with a pistol and you can't see sh*t.

Pretty terrible design.

It's even worse in RDO, in just one update they went from reasonable to "armed with Sniper Rifles that fire shotgun slugs" that can hit you from five hundred feet away.

I played RDO around the same day it released on PS4... And that was it. Never got into it, honestly.

Seems at least fun with friends.

First time they killed me in like a minute and then I corner glitched the rest of the robbery.

Oh right, forgot another annoying thing about enemy NPCs.

Someteims the game just outright REFUSES to put them on the mini map and sometimes it's just hard to actually see them until they're unloading their entire magazine on you  in 0.2 seconds.

And speaking of mini maps, it really sucks when you're inside a building or a specific area in which the map gets zoomed in and you cannot expand it because then it gets zoomed out too much. Kinda like  the Union Depository. You enlarge the map and you can't see sh*t.

Some of those NOOSE guys have almost God mode levels of health. Some drop dead with a single headshot, but others just fall down from your shots and continue to eat your bullets for about 30 seconds before eventually dying.

This is why I like them to die screaming, via molotov or perhaps incendiary heavy revolver. Satisfying. Freaks.

you have no idea how much this resonates with me. Even though i'll say it's for the utility of making them ragdoll...sometimes you just get tired of the BS and want them to suffer

It's not just me that enjoys stabbing NPC's that crash into my shiny new car with my Switchblade then setting them on fire?

Some take 2 MK2 Heavy Sniper bullets in the body, others only one. Its like rapidfire bonus, all of those getting it are Carbine and SMG users in this contract, but you can face the same weapons with normal fire rate, its probably to balance it out.

this is particularly frustrating for mkb/free aim players. the game doesn't scale its difficulty based on aiming preference, so playing anything but full aim assist + controller is a handicap. i would love to play free aim, but what's the point if enemies keep the same accuracy designed for controller players? the problem is that the weapon wheel is broken on pc if you play with controller, so more often than not you end up disarming yourself and punching the air

it doesn't matter what i do, at least im not as weird as people who have done the doomsday heist with mouse and keyboard

Advice I can give is that if you got multiple enemies bearing down waiting for you to pop up to take a shot. Never pop out of cover or they will all fire at you at once and lay you out.

Its why blind fire is a thing. Just hold the shoot button without holding the aim button and your guy will raise their gun over their head and begin firing while limiting exposure to the enemy.

The drawbacks are is that its less accurate and your reticle disappears. To overcome this you simply pay close attention to the bullets themselves to see where they're going and use that to adjust your aim.

Its a great crowd control option since enemies fall down when they get hit, giving you the opportunity to stand up and fire normally.

Wish I still had that video from my crate sourcing job because it belongs in this thread.

The crates were in a box truck in a small parking lot with buildings on both sides and a wall in the back. No cops in sight. The second my character hits the seat 25 Cops and Cars appear from thin air. All of them must have fired at the same time because it sounded like a mini gun. I was dead before I could even process what was going on.
