Mission name references

Many mission names in GTA SA are references to pop culture. I’m trying to make a list of them.

 

 

Body Harvest: A reference to the game of the same name made by Rockstar.

 

Are You Going to San Fierro?: A reference to the song “Are You Going to San Francisco” by Scott McKenzie 

 

Wear Flowers in Your Hair: Same reference of the previous mission.

 

Don Peyote: A reference to the book “Don Quixote.”

These are on the top of my head. What other ones are there?

The mission name "Outrider" is a Star Wars reference.

"Big Smoke" is a reference to the fact that the titular character known as "Big Smoke" is introduced to the player.

"NOE" means "nap of the earth" or low altitude flying, which is pretty much what you do in that mission.

 

Tbh a lot of the mission names in this aren't all that creative, it's mostly just names of the characters, the location name or purely descriptive of the main action you do in the mission. GTA LCS, VCS and the IV games had better names.

Drive Misty For Me is a reference to a movie by Clint Eastwood called Play Misty For Me.
