Unintentional Music Moments during Playthroughs

I actually like how GTA V has its own original soundtrack, it makes certain missions and moments more memorable as it helps set the mood as opposed to having nothing to spice up a gunfight or a car chase, of course they still should respect moments where there shouldn't be any music. its my favorite thing about V, they finally took the stuff they used from Bully and RDR1 and made music to play during certain missions or events which helps the over-the-top hollywood-esque direction they went with in the game.

I don't mind the soundtrack, I just specifically don't like it being forced on me when I'm already driving with the radio on. There's times in missions where it will turn your radio off to switch to the soundtrack (sometimes repeatedly) and that just annoys me. It's similar to how switching between characters during missions causes them to change back to default weapons that I didn't choose. In both situations I can just change back but it breaks immersion and feels like it's taking my control of the game away and I don't like it. If I wanted to hear the soundtrack I wouldn't have the radio turned on, respect my choice game!

I don't mind GTA V's OST either, but, at the very least, there should've been an option to toggle the OST on or off during missions.

During a hangout activity with Brucie, went boating upto the Statue of Happiness and back with 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins playing and its raining in the evening. The song really set the mood and the chorus kicked in during the part when we were heading back and Broker bridge came to view in the rain, felt very atmospheric

GTA San Andreas - Listening to Black Uhuru - Great train robbery while playing Wrong side of the tracks makes an excellent combination.

Funny of you to mention it, because some unused dialogue in the game shows that a package was originally supposed to fall out from the train after killing all the Vagos. More info here.

OT: Speaking of SA, the songs Too Short - "The Ghetto" and Eric B. & Rakim - "I Know You Got Soul" come up on the radio real often whenever I start a new game. I use a CLEO script that enables radio stations on all vehicles so riding around the ghetto neighborhoods on the BMX and listening to any of the said two songs is rather neat.

During a failed attempt of “Dust Off” in GTA IV, I had “The Seeker” by The Who playing on the radio as I followed the helicopter to its landing point. Kinda fitting, seeing as I was “seeking” for the helicopter.

I had a similar thing when I first completed Stevie's Car Thefts. The last one was at the docks and was one of the harder ones to find, when I got in it and started the engine there was The Seeker playing on the radio. Very satisfying!

I guess that song would be fitting for a lot of moments in IV (since the main plot is Niko is "seeking" someone, as well as tracking different people down in missions). That and "One Vision" are perfect theme songs for Niko because of that, I wonder if that's partly why they were chosen for the soundtrack.

Did the mission Snail Trail in San Andreas yesterday and the awesome Young Turks by Rod Stewart played as I followed the train on a dirt bike which made it epic. Remembered another one from years ago as well, the first time I ever did the mission Body Harvest Willie Nelson's "Crazy" was playing as I mowed everyone down with the combine harvester and it was the creepiest experience I'd ever had in GTA.

In my successful attempt of "Out of Commission", "Straight On" by Heart was playing on LRR during the bike and helicopter chase sections of the mission. I thought it was quite fitting as I was "coming straight on" for Jimmy Pegorino in the bike and attack helicopter.

So I was doing the "Stop the Press" mission in LCS the other day and "Welcome to the Real World" by the in-game fictional band Roscoe Stow was already playing as soon as got onto the Faggio to chase Ned Burner. And by the time I caught up with Burner's Faggio to take him out, the "Welcome to the real world, now there's nothing left for you" parts of the lyrics came on and I wiped him out, lol.:kekw:

Yesterday when I was playing The Ballad of Gay Tony, I was driving along the Algonquin Bridge when "Buffalo Stance" by Neneh Cherry started to play on Vice City FM. As my Esperanto rode up the curve on the side of the bridge, she sang "Hanging off the curb, looking all disturbed".

I found it quite amusing.
