Sebor
I have extensively worked with many dangerous animals in both North And south America and I really wish either Rockstar would update some of the wildlife or someone would make a mod. Perhaps it is not always that realistic with wolves always attacking you but it sure is fun and keeps the game exciting. A few things have always bothered me with this game: 1. Certain animals like Muskrat and white tail deer will attack you while other animals that would make more sense to attack you do not like Coyotes, Black bears, Alligator snapping turtle and Cotton mouths. Also coyotes did attack in RDR1 and have attacked people in real life. Further this is still a game and making it more fun and exciting is important. Lastly coyotes do attack in RDR2 online during certain random events. So why not in story mode?? 2. Large Predators like Cougars and Grizzlies have very few and limited spawning points to the point you know exactly where they will be which takes away the excitement. 3. Many of the areas feel too safe as they have no large predators or other dangerous animals spawn in the area. For example the heartlands. Changes I would like to see made: - Give Coyotes about a 5% chance to attack you in general but increase this to up to 50% if: · Your gun is holstered: an extra 5% chance to be attacked · You are injured: An extra 10% chance to be attacked for every 25% health missing. · There are 3 coyotes or more: 10% chance extra to be attacked. This would nicely show how opportunistic Coyotes are. - Black bears should have a 30% chance to attack you and try and kill you, a 30% to run away, A 30% change to do a mock charge and then flee and a 10% chance to just ignore you and keep moving on with their day as they sometimes do in the wild. To show that they attack people mostly for being territorial or being surprised it would be good perhaps if they only attack once you get too close. - Alligator snapping turtles should Bite you and take a good chunk of health when you come to close. - Cotton mouths and perhaps some of the other water snakes should bite and envenomate you when you get to close. Cotton mouth being one of the most feared snakes in those areas it would make sense. On that subject snake bite as a whole should be more dangerous. A good solution I find would be that your cures only slow the venom and give you and extra XX minutes amount of time to get to a doctor. Only doctors should be able to heal you from a bite. This would also make doctors a bit more useful in this game. - After a Wild boar or peccary attacks you it should have a 10% or so chance to continue to attack you to try and gore you to death. This is what they always did in RDR1 which was a bit frustrating, but I think it would make sense that just as in real life they would sometimes just try and continue to gore you. In the game they currently just attack you once and run away. The above should be the same for Moose, Elk and Bisons. They should all have a 30% chance or so to try to continue to attack you and kill you. Elk also know as Wapiti is actually north Americas most dangerous large animal and should not always run away after an attack. Same with the moose and Bisons which in real life are far more dangerous than any of the predators. In return a pack of Wolves should sometimes just surround you and be hesitant to attack and if you stand your ground you should be able to scare them off with a single gun shot. - Further I would like more and more diverse spawning spots for Grizzly Bears and cougars. For example The grizzly bear that spawns near Wallace station almost always spawns at the exact same spot to the point that its very easy to counter/evade. This is also kind of the case for Wolves but slightly less as they do have more spawn locations it seems. · Bears, Moose and cougars should have more spawning locations in the regions/states where they already spawn. Not as many but also a few more for Wolves. · The current spawning locations should have a greater area of where they can possible spawn so that it gets less predictable and not just always spawns on the same tile. · A few rare spawns in areas like the Heartlands would also be great. Currently the heartlands is beautiful but also very boring as there are no real threats there. Adding a few locations in places like the heartlands and have cougars, wolves and Grizzlies rarely spawn in these areas would also historical sense as they were still present (in low numbers) in these areas at this time. Heck even Mexico had still grizzlies back then. Lastly as a bonus I would like Rockstar to add: - Bobcats, Lynx, swans and Wolverines · Bobcats were in RDR1 and are honestly a bit strange to be missing as they are quite an iconic animal. Its northern cousin the Lynx would also be a great addition. Foxes and bobcats did attack in RDR1 but very rarely. Perhaps they could have like a 2% chance to attack kind of mirroring that they would have rabies. · Swans are one of the largest missing birds in this game and they could also be the only bird to attack players on occasions which could be interesting. · Wolverine is another iconic animal that is missing. It would be a very cool addition and could do the following; a 30% chance to attack you, A 30% to run away, a 10% chance to just ignore you showing its bravado and a 30% chance to a have a stare down with you. If you hold your ground it will eventually leave if you move or draw your gun it will attack. Dan390, The Tracker and Dizzyo 1
