Why can’t I get through ONE heist?

I’m still a newbie to the online community, but I don’t understand why I can’t get through ONE heist. I’ve attempted the prison break heist an unbelievable amount of times at this point with several different “team” members. After waiting forever just to get three people to join the heist, there’s always someone leaving, quitting, not completing their task, SOMETHING. It is so frustrating.

 

How have any of you finally completed a heist when there are so many unreliable people playing online? *fake tears, but seriously*

I managed to do this back in a time where there was nothing else, heist-wise, to do. Nowadays the players capable of doing these heists either stick to themselves doing Cayo Perico, or do the other heists that only require one other player.

At some point you will find a crew to get it done with. Took me a lot of approaches too. It is easier with friends/crew. Or try to find people here to team up with and get it done. It's worth to try -> Find lobbies & players

Wait until you get to the Humane Labs - Deliver EMP setup.

 

You will learn, that 95%+ of the online playerbase are not capable of flying helicopters or planes, and care very little for tactical positioning and actions when in gun combat, as this is likely their first GTA game given how old this game actually is and children nowadays do not care for playing single player... the primary mode in which they would learn and become adept and performing such actions. You will find players who can only be described as having no concept of patience and unwilling to read the on-screen instructions, which is even more worrying given that GTA has always kept a very minimalist and clean User Interface, ever since GTA 1 in 1997.

Welcome to GTA Online and the randoms. If you want to heist make sure to have a fist full of friends up front. Randoms will give you random results. Check the link posted above

when i do a heist that requires 2 or more players, i have a couple friends that i do the heists with and it always perfect

but most of the time lately i just stick to doing cayo perico solo

 

i rarely do heists with randoms/matchmaking, it almost always results in a disaster

 

also honestly, if you just wanna get money, buy yourself the submarine and do the cayo perico solo. there are a lot of  solo tutorials online, its really ez

if you wanna do the other heists to experience them, group up thru LFG and don't join random people ingame

I feel ya, it really can be hit or miss out there, especially if a lower ranked player as people prefer to play with players that have access to the better tools while also having a bit of knowledge of what's to come.

 

But as @Cash 4 Clickbait said above. you think it's bad now, wait for that Deliver EMP job on Humane Labs. Oof! An easy enough mission in theory, but players often make a meal out of that one. And even with capable players, sometimes it just gets buggy.

 

That said, there are patient/helpful players out there that heist and many low levels are returning players with plenty of knowledge too, such a mixed bag out there. Only this last 2 weeks me and my lad needed 2 random players to finally do the 1st person old heists challenge I'd put off for ages, and aside a couple false starts, we got it done quite comfortably I felt. One of the randoms I added to my friends list and they proved very helpful.

 

A good place to go is the find players section of here and post a thread (be sure to add your platform and best times to play etc). Be patient with it but you should get some interest.

 

Best advice though, don't put too much pressure on yourself to get done asap. If you have a few fails, just do some other activities and leave it for the next day or something. Or set s target of one setup a day unless you find a group keen.

the OG heist were kinda hard to find competent people to them a few months after they were released, i cant imagine how hard it must be to try doing them with randumbs 6 years later not gonna lie whenever i get a notification to prison break i laugh

Prison Break and Humane Labs (Deliver EMP) are definite bottlenecks in the game, I get invites all the time, I try to play PB often but if the host launches with 2 other low level players it's very hit and miss. Usually the hit is the Velum.

 

Make the prison guard drop his special carbine for the prisoner, and tell the pilot to follow the jet closely to be safe. Otherwise, godspeed.

This is why I always ask (and usually get) to be pilot. Nothing annoys me more than a plane crash on the background while I'm rampaging the prison in my Armored Kuruma.

I'll try, but it usually ends with the other 2 randoms messing up and leaving.

Sometimes it also ends because the host believes Easy (0.50x Cash & RP) difficulty actually makes stealth easy. Otherwise I don't whether it's on Normal or Hard.

 

There is one single heist in this whole game I am willing to play on easy and that is the Hydra mission, for the rest I leave.

Definitely not the prison break. If one life isn't enough there, neither is 2. Also, save it for the parachute jump.

If you don't go on a heist with a team that your friends in you'll probably lose. Cause Your Friends will always listen each other.

 

But If you go on a heist with a Public Lobby or just Quick Job (Heist) , either an player will leave the heist, one will alert the guards, one will do a bad thing and other will not cooperate.

 

Though If you go Online and do an heist without your friends, there is no point of it too...

Welcome! Welcome to the forums and welcome to the most gobsmackingly stupid playerbase you've ever seen. A playerbase so unbelievably stupid that if there was a competition for the stupidest playerbase ever and they were the only ones in it they'd still lose. 

 

As others have said, a small crew of friends is The Way, or you can find people in the Find Lobbies & Players thread. If you absolutely must resort to using randoms, at the very least try to get some who are prepared to get on the mic and communicate - just that one thing can make the difference. Randoms in heists who don't communicate have a roughly 90% failure rate (at least) and are incapable of learning from their mistakes, so if you don't tell them what to do they'll never figure it out on their own. Of course, for the most part they won't listen to you anyway, but at least you can say you tried. 

 

To get an idea of what you're in for with randoms, check out the Heist Failure Stories thread - not only is there hours of "laugh or cry" gold in there, it will actually give you a lot of insight in what not to do regarding heists.

 

Oh, and what others have said regarding Humane Labs - Deliver EMP is 100% spot on; absolute cake with a cohesive, communicating team, but just this side of impossible with randoms. It's because it requires stealth, coordination and restraint, and these three things are completely beyond most randoms. You'll see...

To be fair, OP, you are six years behind the times and Rockstar have moved on a lot since the lessons of the OG heists.

 

Random invite to Prison Break pops up on screen - SHUDDERS - no way in a million years am I accepting that.

 

Reminds me of doing this in a group of  friends when snoring came through the headset. After waiting and waiting for the helicopter, we eventually found it slumped in the desert about a kilometer away, hence the snoring. Happy nights!

I used to drop minigun RPG combat MG(before MK2 weapons) as pilot, you know, you can't never maximize enough your chance of success in this heist. If the prisoner is too stubborn to grab the weapons, its written in the stone the final will fail. Particulary on PC, where you can write in the chat, its marker of stupidity, or a lack of cognitive skills not to grab the weapons as low level prisoner.

 

In case like that its safe to leave, before they eat your soul by spamfailing.
