Why does franklin have a fireplace in his house, in Hot ass los santos?

Los Angeles's (Los santos) temperature is usually  between 85° / 66 in nearly all seasons. So...what's the dealio?

What the hell you mean? As far as I know, Los Angeles is everything but hot, or at least not that much, it's temperature is typically above the 50s ºFs, not a big deal. Add to it that Franklin literally lives in the mountains.

California still gets extremely cold throughout the year. Every apartment I ever lived at in LA had a fireplace.

ITT: People who don't realize that in most of America, fireplaces are simply an aesthetic. You can use them, sure, but most modern houses come with sufficient heat and air conditioning. Pretty much every mcmansion in Texas comes with a fireplace, and with the exception of that winter storm last February, it rarely gets below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. People just get them because it looks good or traditional, plain and simple.

Isn't it a really bad idea to leave a fireplace lit and unattended though? I guess Lester can always just hook Franklin up with a new place so long as he's available for another assassination mission, but that seems a bit wasteful, and Lester has to make sure that the new property doesn't have a fireplace, because our boy isn't capable of shutting off a fireplace.

The game is actually set from Summer to Fall (As in-game calenders imply August and September, then you have NPCs talking about it being october and there are even stores selling halloween decorations), so it kinda makes sense, coming from the fact that Franklin gets his safehouse on the middle of it.

Problem is, there is never an moment in the game that it's anything other than steaming hot. Maybe except during rain.

My point is that it burns even when it's daytime and scorching hot.

Why does all of our family in LA & RIverside have them? It does get cold there, you know. Sometimes it even flurries some snow. You know what is awesome about SoCal? You drive 45 minutes to get to snow or beach.

How do you assume it is "steaming hot" ALL the time in the game? Is not like you have been inside it to tell how the temperature is like 😛, even if you were saying it based on the way it looks like, Los Santos tends to have cold colors at times:

Yet majority of pedestrians wear t-shirts and there are people at the beach at all times unless it's raining. And all your protagonists start sweating too when outside.

 

Where are the pedestrians mentioning that the game is in October though?

Actually, he has two...he has a suspension fireplace by his bong and the one under the tv. He usually is in shorts or a tank top anyways so I guess he gets cold at night.

idk I always thought it's set in winter because it's snowing when you go to North Yankton
