IP address PS4 threat

Hiya Guys 

 

Got a bit of a scare the other day and was hoping for some advice. 
 

Random wannabe try hard to kill me multiple times but to no avail. 
 

In the end he decided to do it to other players so I decided to play big brother and sort him out. 
 

After killing him a few times he messages on the in game phone saying he is gonna out my IP address on the dark web. 
 

I stopped killing him and thought nothing of it but it’s really got me worried. 
 

Should I report him to Sony / R* for breach of terms of service. I’m on PS4 so unsure as to how whe would get this info?

If you have proof (screenshot of phone message, or a PS4 conversation), report his behaviour to both Sony and Rockstar (not in game but they have a website to report other players). They will deal with him as they see fit.

And yes, you can get the IP address of other PS4 players if you have a PC on the same network to monitor traffic, and there are some other requirements I'm not sure about.

But I doubt he actually has your IP address, unless he told you your actual IP address. If you did not send him any messages, he probably doesn't have it.

thanks for replying. Yeh so didn’t message him back nor did I send him any out of game messages so not across the PSN. 
 

Didn’t know IP could be accessed via PS4 but was more worried because of my work and family.

And if you still are or get worried again. you can unplug your router for 40-60 secs you will get a new ip. After that they have to pull ur ip a 2nd time if they rly want to boot you off.
