HobbitStatus
Are brands within GTA copywritten? For instance, could I sell art using Zip, 24-7, Burger Shot, etc. from San Andreas without using the GTA or Rockstar logos? Btw, it would be cool to do the same for Vice City. sefus
That could be a funny idea for a mission in GTA 6, where your character has to go to court over bullsh*t copyright infringement. I'm pretty sure it's not. One would have to file a trademark in the first place and I doubt R* would go that far. HobbitStatus

Kirsty
Hm, I think it depends on the context, though I'm not 100% certain on where they draw the line. T2 wholly own all R* assets, which would include art and logos. So while the words "Burger Shot" might not be copyrighted, they might not be happy if it appears like the same signage as the in-game restaurant. kobeni

A fried chicken restaurant in Oakland briefly rebranded as a Cluckin Bell. Seriously.
Lioshenka
I don't think that they are, but if you'll try and sell something using the in game logos R* may use the copyright claim to pull you down. I'm sure you'll be fine if you use it as text/story or an own designed logo that isn't similar to R*'s. If the R* logos represent an insignificant portion of your finished art then you'll also probably be okay. I tried to find out if they were copywritten back in 2015, and couldn't find any proof then, I did an insignificant poster for a charity and put together some GTA branded take away containers and cups :D They turned out looking so real. BabaFamilias
I don't know how the laws in the US work, but here in Austria you don't need to register your original intellectual creation to benefit from protection. Once your work is published, it stands under the copyright law. Rockstar may use a copyright claim, so I would ask for their approval first. kobeni
Unless you live in a country like Indonesia or Russia where knockoff stuff is common I'd probably play it safe and not sell stuff with the fake logos on it.
