I was in YouTube and looking at 2013-14 vids of gta and I laughed when other players called the mugger. Lol theirr reaction is priceless.

my question is did they updated the system to the muggers ?

do they show the name of who sent it or is it still anonymous?

I still find it funny to  call a mugger on those little Mk 2 b*tches after I sticky bomb them off their broomsticks…just to add insult to injury. 😆

Sure, sending a mugger is fun to ruffle a few feathers and show that you're thinking out of the box and I still enjoy it.

I sent one earlier this week. Also a bounty and merry weather after someone on a depressor killed me when I was in passive mode…something knocked me out of it and I didn’t even realize it.

muggers were fun... one thing for sure they never fixed one thing, if you double tap X when selecting the victim name, sometimes the mugger you hired will mug you 🤣

Every time I'm PVPing with someone I send them, always buy you time and such, there is some interesting strategies you can employ like call a mugger, wait for the confirmation that it is near your target, and you can use the fact that the mugger have lock-on to make a quick sweep at your target and launch a rocket on the mugger, if the timing is right, you will kill your opponent via splash damage and they will lose up to 10K, another cool strategy is that if your opponent in looking down the scope in your direction, you can call a mugger on him, and when the mugger knock him down, you counter snipe him. Fun fact that recently Rockstar nerfed muggers to not steal PVs, that is a shame, but from time to time, my muggers steal Hydras or Avengers, in the PC I even got a mugger that stole a Godmode Kanjali from a cheater, that apparently didn't had Godmode on himself, because the mugger killed him like 3 times. There was also a dude on a Godmode speedo that lost it to the mugger, I always have a good laugh when those rare occasions happen. There is also a trick to you "selfmug" so you can sit in like a Pegasus Rhino and let the mugger go on a rampage with your stolen vehicle, pretty fun to watch.

Yep, I tend to send muggers any time I'm in a spat with someone or just because I'm bored and they have a stupid name or a bigness mask.

The first thing I do almost every time I load into a public lobby is call a mugger on someone with an tryhardy gamertag.

I like that. You could also send them after a high K/D warrior.

If I am at a loose end & there's a lobby jet griefer I quite often sit on my yacht with air defences up. Then wait until they invariably crash their jet & send a mugger on them to bait them, when they come in their new jet to get 'revenge' my air defences blow it up leaving them at a loose end because of the PV spawn cooldown timer. They usually then spend the next 5 minutes trying to snipe me from the beach while I taunt them with sarcastic messages. It's surprising how many of these idiots don't realise that Yacht defences also protect you from sniper fire, probaly because they stopped bothering to learn anything about the game when they discovered some jets have explosive cannons.

Back in the day, I called up a hydra to the heliport. As  I was lifting off I was like, who the hells that guy stood on my plane. It was a mugger and as I was trying to transition to forward flight, he pulled me out of the plane and we both died in the carnage.

I love the mugger

I mug single digit players on sight, my little contribution to their development, keep them on their toes

Also yeah anything flying I kill, insult to injury

And just to delay some twat who wants to fight me when I'm just heading to ammunation for some armour.

Oh and always when I see a tank or khanjali, in case they've got vehicle access set to everyone.

So yeah.

I was having a pvp spat with someone the other day and they were using all kinds of cheap tryhard-y tactics. But I had to laugh when they sent a mugger on me. Couldn't even tell you the last time before this that I had been mugged. It's a tactic I don't often think to use myself but I have to admit it worked out in their favor. I'll definitely be using it more often now when I want a laugh

Last I remember sending them was when it would be a Daily Objective. I'd usually text the highest ranked player before saying like "mugger daily obj sry". Once the mugger connected and the guy responded back in a friendly matter that he didn't see the text until after it happened.

Stopped using them when they stopped taking PV's, imo that was the best thing about the guys & it sucks that R* changed that after all these years.

But reading this thread, apparently they do still take PV's but now only sometimes??? 🤔 i'll need to investigate this tbh, sry at everybody i send a mugger too later today 😛

Sending a mugger is a dirty trick and it is never not funny in GTAO. Always happy to send or receive :)

I send muggers whenever possible. Can really tip a fight to your advantage, plus it's funny and annoying. My favorite lately is this: if I see someone being a Mk II jackass, I'll call for mine and kill them (usually easy, since almost no one uses chaff). Then I'll call the mugger on them, fly circles nearby, wait until he's about to get them and I've got a lock, and fire a missile at him. Nothing like adding insult and some extra injury to injury.

Another advanced strategy that no one does ever is the Merryweather airstrike. Anytime some guy is on a roof sniping or rocketing, I like to get right up next to the building (under an overhang if possible), call in the airstrike, and put the flare as close to the wall as possible. Lots of players will stand right above you, either because they're trying to figure out how to kill you or to kind of taunt you. Little do they know!

Back in the day, I used to spend many a happy hour hiding on the roof of tinsel towers, sniping people as they emerge from LSC.  After a while, they would cotton on to my position or at least where my blip was showing. So would gather in the street below or circle the walkways looking for ladders. There are no ladders to tinsel tower roof so instead they would find my strategically placed proximity mines, then they would spot a dubsta 2 or similar parked nearby, and the ignition bomb fitted, some would be mugged, some would wonder who the guys in mesa’s were that rolled up, others would wonder what the flare that landed in the street was for, all the while being repeatedly sniped by a girl,  some would climb the yellow crane to try and get position on me, I’d let them get right to the top… You’d see blips speeding for the heliport and then go off radar but to no avail.

nowdays its all mk2s that you cant hit and strafing god mode lazers,  the old fights had so much more class

Sorry, off topic- snipers who fly high up onto buildings tend to get salty when I arrive in my unarmed Deluxo, in passive mode. I can’t touch them, but I can knock their silly oppressor off the rooftop ;)

probably, if the target is on the ground in the first place which i doubt they are due to all the flying cars in the game

Muggers forever! If I see someone in session kicking the crap out of someone, I'll send a mugger to even the odds for a moment. I will also mug AFKers, although that's not quite as much fun as it was before they added the cooldown.

Oh, and anyone with TTV in their gamertag - muggers, bounties, Merc teams, sub missiles, the whole bit - because those useless dipsh*ts need to be hounded from every game on every platform until the end of time since they won't do us the courtesy of killing themselves.

Anyone who thinks that last bit is a bit harsh has never tried a mission/heist/robbery/lunch with one of them. They are an affront to the very concept of gaming skill. They're the ones my muggers almost always take a full 10K from as well, because of course they suck at banking their cash, just like they suck at everything else they do.

Edit: Just remembered another one - invite spammers. Oh, you better believe that's a mugging.
