Taking Player Bounties Alive

Completely impossible unless they cooperate, a player can slip a reinforced lasso hogtie in 15 seconds flat you cant even get them on your horse before their untied. to make player bounties actually possible to take alive rockstar needs to make it take at least 60 seconds minimum for a player to slip a hogtie while they are a bounty target.

Here’s what I do, when a player bounty pop up for me, I identify their pic in player list to see the name, then I roam around to find them, once I find, I call the bounty wagon.

 

Now the hard part, I get near them, accept the bounty, and as soon as they become Red I throw the bolas and put them in the wagon, this way, unless they’re with a posse, they will never get free.

 

It is tricky to accomplish it, but possible and rewarding, a pitty R* coded this poorly as when they log off the mission fails showing the message on the screen “another posse captured the bounty”.

I've tried giving up but they just kill me anyways, not that it upsets me, but I just wanted to see what happens when they take me in alive is all. 😁

Always trying to capture players alive but they tend to get way to tryhardy! I don´t know if it is fixed but if you turn off all notifications and someone brings you in you could stay there forever! I think I visited all jails by help of some friends...

So you actually make it into the jail? I have to try that now, might have to get a posse mate to go awol and come after me to make it happen.

If you kill a Player Bounty then there’s no credit towards Player Bounty milestones.

Player Bounty Clip

 

I’ve created a support ticket with Rockstar, and I encourage others to do the same.

 

Player Bounties are broken because if the player bounty target leaves the lobby the bounty mission auto-fails.

 

If you have either their corpse or captured alive the mission should function normally and use an NPC to take the place of a captured living bounty so us Bounty Hunters don’t get screwed out of our payments and rewards.

 

Above is a twitch clip I made of just such an event.

I already did that too, via ticket and feedback via R* page, guess what, the response from ticket was like they were relpying to a 6 yo kid. They told me to “look out the timer because when the timer runs out, the mission will be over as designed”.   
 

I wish it was worth trying to tell them the broken things about this game, but it always seems a waste of time and effort.

 

I did watch your clip and I think you should had try to capture him alive so it would be clearer to see the mission failing when he leaves session, but I could tell by that sound from mission done.

These missions are just buggy.  It does not always end the mission if a player leaves.  I have had it happen where I have a dead player on my horse and the horse will not enter the yellow delivery area.  Carrying the player body in does nothing.  Put the player on a horse inside the circle freezes you and the horse.  I have carried several people into the circle and games acts like its going to give credit, but it just says mission over.  I have seen several times someone else delivered the bounty and the mission ends, but the posse the bounty is in is still fighting me including the bounty target.  No rhyme or reason.  Half the time it says a player bounty is nearby but they are across the map in some other town.

I just kill them cause they break out WAY too f*cking fast.

Explosive ammo if they fire back, taking your carcass back. Sorry but the 200 XP from the daily was necessary to finish the pass faster, would take you in alive

 

Honestly? The game should NOT warn them, let them be taken by surprise!

I'll just put this out there - if you see me with a bounty, if it's more than $50 - I'll let you take me to jail.  I'll walk there myself.

THIS, so this. Also, bear in mind that the game Awards don't distinguish between living and dead bounties. Also, few ppl know that if you die at all during the player bounty content,  it won't appear in Awards at all. The method described in the quote is pretty much the only reliable way to bring them in alive. But for the other reasons I stated,  you have every incentive to just kill them. You could also try just letting them break out a few times until they gas out.

The player bounty system are in dire need of fixes.  If a member of a posse has a bounty they all should get a bounty on their head. So you could bring in them all! I was kinda hyped for the prestigious version of the BH. Hoped we could buy iron shackles.

 

Best way to have less issues with players breaking the ropes is using the wagon.

I say warn them that we are hot on their trails but make us of radar instead. And if they leave the lobby/session let an AI take over the body but they don´t lose bounty out on them but we get paid.
