2 copies of GTA and problem

My copy of GTA 5 goes thru Epic Game store. 

My son has been using my computer while he is waiting to be able to buy a graphics card for his computer. He wanted GTA 5 after watching me play,so I bought him a copy off the Steam store. I figured it would be fine-my copy is run from Epic and his is run from Steam.

But the problem is,as soon as we loaded his Steam GTA 5, RockStar Social Club popped up and wants me to activate it using MY Epic credentials-they were already loaded in. It had my Character's name.

This would have him playing under my character-which I don't want too happen (its the reason I bought him GTA5 from Steam and not Epic).

 

I immediately quit and did not activate until I can figure out a workaround.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

i own the steam version and the rockstar launcher both, and whenever I try to launch one after playing on the other it will pop back up requesting me to sign in again. If he has a social club, just use those credentials instead and it should work. I think there's a way to link certain copies to your SC as well, but I haven't done it in so long now

 

basically, the R* launcher only lets one account be active at a time. It probably just saved your email in the username slot because you're the main account

No. It looks like even if you manually install another copy of RS social club,it uses a universal temp folder and saves data there. Worse comes to worse I'll try making another User Account in Win 10,or if that doesn't work I'll move his Steam copy to my old Intel I5 4core with Nvidia GTX 650 or my old I7 with a Quadro K2200 workstation. GTA 5 runs pretty good on low spec graphics. 

Besides, I bet RS does a hardware hash so they know what computer what particular copy GTA is running on. And the kid is already talking about Mods. I don't care. If he gets banned,thats on him. If he gets me banned,I'm going to kick his butt.

That just seems to be the way the game's designed - really they want you to use a separate folder directory for each different type of game version - so one install location for Steam and one for Epic. 
It is possible to install the Epic Games and Rockstar version in the same directory, but I had issues when trying to introduce Steam to the whole thing so just put that in a different location. 

 

There may be one or two mods that can solve or workaround the issue; if I can remember them or find them I'll post them in here.

My gut tells me Epic and Steam are using a reference.

I'll figure it out. 

I can probably redirect with a Notepad edit.

Worse case scenario is a 3 line program.

Aye I'm sure you could probably draw something up if you're a programmer. The thing that came to my mind was this thing linked here.
