Do I need the Sparrow for the heist solo?

Do I need the Sparrow for the heist solo? The sub is expensive enough! And it is just the Sub right? I don't need a nightclub or a underwater vehicle or some other paywall?

If you have a MkII, honestly I wouldn't waste money on the Sparrow unless you've got it spare. The MkII is far better for blasting through the Cayo Perico preps. The only time I use the Sparrow is when I want to get to my sub, but just to start the heist, or just to do something real quick without having to drive the sub near the shore.

If you don't have a MkII, then get the Sparrow.

Only sub plus being VIP/MC/CEO. The Sparrow is very usefull for any other heist preps and the new contract missions so you would want one sooner or later. I would get an armored vehicle first though, Duke of Death or Nightshark unless you plan to buy any rocket shooting car or already have one.

I have MC(cash)/CEO/Duke-they were part of the criminal pak (although the Duke isn't unlocked for free until you hit level 40).

My goal was to grind out enough for the sub and Sparrow. I wanted the Sparrow because it sounds perfect for me. It is basically a fast Frogger (which I am actually getting good at) with even better Buzzard Missiles.

I was going to use the Sparrow constantly for Sightseer (which I rock at now-never missed one yet: but I have destroyed the Frogger on the 1st package many times!) and for Headhunter.

I got tired of going to airstrip to airstrip hoping for a Buzzard so I can practice Headhunter and broke down and bought one. But I need lots more practice with the Buzzard. Lots more! I completed 1 Headhunter out of about 20,and that was mostly luck. Yeah,I need practice!

But being impatient and buying the Buzzard screwed up my Master Goal of sub/Sparrow to do the Cayo.

I wish I would have stuck with The Plan, and Grinded out enough for the sub and Sparrow.

OK.

Back to The Plan.

As for armored vehicles, don't worry about me. I have Kuruma. Not the expensive Armored Kuruma. The Kuruma.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well,I have it until RS catches on and updates.

Trust me,there are tens of thousands of Cops in Cars and Cops in Copters that are begging for RS to nerf back my beloved Kuruma.

I can shoot Homing Missiles out of my cheap Kuruma-can your expensive Armored Kuruma do that?
hehehehe....

Thanks for the advice,Bro!

No,thats what I am planning on doing the Cayo for-get enough $$ for the MK2. That is my absolute end goal. The MK2 unlocks everything. Get around quick. Kill quick. Everything looks so much easier with it.

I swear I'll use it for Good and not Evil.

But it is way out of my price range (when you account for paywalls)

Definitely get the Sparrow for the sub. You never know with a MK2 if the ocean will knock it off the sub while you're inside, so not as reliable.

Ah,that is making sense now. I watched a video and theYTer stressed how you cannot have the MKII tilt,it must be on the sub perfectly. He didn't mention why,but now I know. Thanks.

Turn on Hood view, play it First Person, and try using the minigun at close distance, promised you can blow up the armored cars with very quickly. For static targets on foot you must memorize where they're and switch to homing off missiles to kill them. Thats how you will master this job with buzzard. Memorizing the targets locations will also help with anything that is freeaim, like Hydra cannon, Savage cannon, Akula barrages...or Sparrow homing off missiles. You need to remember the best angles to attack them and manoeuver in consequence before shooting.

The Sparrow is very useful if you have the money for it.

Instead of landing your Oppressor Mk II on the Kosatka and risk letting it fall into the water, you can have the game land the Sparrow for you. When exiting the Kosatka with the Sparrow the game will also spawn you above the Kosatka, so you don't have to fumble around. The "Mounted Homing Missiles" upgrade is also helpful, just don't spam it and accidentally blow up a mission objective.

Upon requesting the Sparrow via the Interaction Menu, it will spawn fairly close to you, all without being in any organization(s) or Motorcycle Club(s) like the Oppressor Mk II would require.

The Sea Sparrow is a different vehicle, might be as well usefull though.

When I bought my Kosatka, I didn't buy the Sparrow with it, and used the Sea Sparrow at first. (and the oppressor mk2 too, but that one fell off the Kosatka too much)

Sea Sparrow: park on Kosatka, or in the water next to it, enter Kosatka, start next prep, leave Kosatka through the hatch, swim after your Sea Sparrow because it has fallen off or floated away.

Kosatka Sparrow: press E to land. Start next prep. Get your repaired Sparrow from moon pool and take off.

The Sea Sparrow also doesn't get repaired.

For me the Kosatka Sparrow is the best tool for the job still. And with how much money Cayo Perico makes, I'm sure you can afford it at some point.

At the same time, I rarely take my Toreador out of the moon pool, shame on me. I do use it on most of the apartment heists though.

With the Kosatka the Sea Sparrow and the Dodo Seaplane at least get somewhat usefull, I got the Dodo for free so I used it a bit when I started with CPH. I have the Torreador stored in the MOC for quick access.

I prefere Hydra for a couple of missions like softening Buzzard reinforcements and O'Neil Ranch mission.

Ideally you want to go full stealth so doing the two above are not needed. On my last few attempts Ive only fired one bullet

Idc, I repeat the final so I won't replay the setups like a bot everyday. I used to play it 100% combat knife before the juggernaut was buffed.

When you're solo you can just ignore the juggernaut.

I don't need your advice about how to play Cayo thanks you.

One reason to get the Sparrow in my experience is that its presence on the map doesn't seem to encourage the desire in other players to kill you. I see Sparrows happily flying back and forth like busy bees doing their preps and nobody else seems to bother them.

I use the sparrow for most of the preps. The exception is with the plasma cutter, I fly to the first target with the sparrow, call MK2, get the target and then collect it with the MK2 and deliver.
