Help Needed. Games runs at 60FPS then down down to 3FPS and freezes every couple of seconds

HI,

Ive recently downloaded GTA and run a GTX1060 6GB with 16GB RAM. When playing either single or multiplayer its freezes for a couple of seconds and then continues. I have checked my drivers and updates and watched numerous video is online but Im still unable to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well ..3 possibilities: 

 

1 - Your bandwidth must be slower than expected;

 

2 - Lobbies with too many ppl often are filled with many many modders doing all kinds of tricks. This "lags"  the whole lobby, even  for ppl with excellent speeds;

 

3 - Did you set up correctly the game? On "settings" go to Graphics and reduce Grass quality to "normal". MSAA , for x4.  Uncheck ambient occlusion and reduce to 1/3 Distance Scaling. Surely youll have much more FPS.

 

 

PS - Number 2 is the most probable cause of your issues.

It could be server lag as mentioned above either due to busy or modded lobbies or your internet being slow.

But try locking your FPS to 60 or to your monitors refresh rate as long as it is 144hz or less.

You should be good for high settings tbh with a 1060 unless your CPU is terrible.

Are your temps ok?
