I am even talking about setting textures to low because new clothes will look really bad. Plocospermataceae Posted August 11, 2021 Share Posted August 11, 2021 It's really inconsistent for some reason, some of the shirts have great textures but then others are just super low res. Some of the shirts even mix the two, so that one part might be sharp but another is mega blurry. Like the Lampadati hoodie, everything is a low res mess, except for the peacock logo on the right side of the shirt. Commander S Posted August 12, 2021 Share Posted August 12, 2021 I get the impression it's something people are only noticing more now because all the stuff in the Car Meet is particularly bad, but this has been a problem to varying degrees since at least Lowriders. For example, you've got leggings from I'm Not A Hipster with really crisp prints and clean lines - and that stuff was first added on PS3/Xbox 360! Or look at these examples, from Ill-Gotten Gains, where you've got crisp prints and no slop/bleed in the textures: That was the last update available on the original console release - it's absolutely baffling to me that R* could put out clean textures for cross-gen updates like those, but as soon as the game was on Xbox One/PS4 only, texture quality got worse, not better (despite not having to cater to less powerful hardware). Take these examples from Lowriders, Cunning Stunts, and Bikers - particularly the bleed around the shoulders in the Lowriders top, or the blurry badges on the jackets: Like I say, it's been this bad for nearly six years, now - the only things that tend to buck the trend are event week t-shirts, because they're handled differently (the graphic is applied over the top of the shirt model like a decal, rather than being permanently 'painted' on it). It's the sort of thing you'd think R* would clean up with the next-gen re-release in November, but I can't help but think that whoever's making calls on this at R* seems to think that quality like the stuff above is 'good enough', so I don't have all that much faith that things are going to improve.
