I figured (though I might be wrong) that Blackwater is perhaps the easiest map to complete since you can camp the rooftops and snipe. So for that reason I stick to it for this week since there is a 3x payout. Unfortunately I have been put in solo matches from time to time and I have found that I can perhaps do 6-7 waves on the ground before I have to get up high and camp it out. When I have been playing with others I usually stay on the roof where I can cover 3 sides. Blackwater is my fav so far. loved all maps on first day but now Valentine and Strawberry seem to be the most annoyingly bugged. enemies literally spawning on top of you most of the time. wherever you are on the map. Drimes
I gotta say, I love these survivals. I don't make it too far alone, but enough to make an honest pay. But with the right people beside me, I'm gunslinging like Micah Bell in A Short Walk in a Pretty Town for 45 minutes. Thank you, Rockstar. It's a start for sure. Terrible, uninstall immediately If you try to heal a ally while you are standing on stairs then you will freeze in place until the npc moves again which is usually the whole break between rounds. Only heal them while standing on a flat surface until its fixed. 21 hours ago, AStiffBreeze said: I finally got into a Call to Arms with three other players! But then in wave 9 it bugged out and enemies stopped spawning. We couldn’t do anything but eventually kill ourselves. And then we didn’t get paid anything. So 50+ minutes of Call to Arms, we never got beaten by the enemies, and we got paid 0 gold bars, $0, and 0 XP. I’m out. Which map were you on? Sometimes on Blackwater one of the enemies will remain on a boat a bit further out and he only appeared as the red dot on the map once I got pretty close. I played with two other randoms and we all had the same idea--stay on the rooftops. They stayed on the busier end of the main street (where I eventually went) and I was on the end leading out of town. I put one cop rifleman on one roof there and I went up to another. I healed that cop for eight rounds. Not only was he good at popping bad guys, his activity alerted me to trouble spots sometimes. After every round, I'd come down from my rooftop, go heal him, then go back to my rooftop. I couldn't have done it without him (sniff). Ring Dang Do
With the CTA addition I have been having a very enjoyable experience and not just with CTA but with the game overall as a whole. I'm actively doing more hunting and cooking in freeroam to top up my tonics, ammo and food, which I have never bothered to do with any previous content. I have never spent so much time in my own camp topping up my supplies and it actually feels useful now rather than just a place to do trader deliveries. I might just be imagining it but I think CTA has brought some comradery to the game, since you have everyone working together for a long term goal. Small examples of this is the last few times I have been in the towns of Valentine, Strawberry, and Blackwater there's been over 7-8 random players and not one person has fired a single shot which is very weird from my experience. If I join a CTA and there's only one player who happens to be low level, instead of leaving to search for another game I try and get as far as I can with that player to fill their coffers with as much gold and $$ as I can. Its not perfect though and I really hope they make some positive changes to the game mode to keep the positive momentum going since the 3x will be ending. One of the main things they need to work is match making. The 10 levels can be completed rather fast if we can guarantee to find a full team and not be constantly put in a match alone or with one other player. Currently Blackwater seems to be the most popular, so until Rockstar fixes it I would suggest searching for a game in Blackwater if you want to play with other players. I hope they add the following sooner rather than later Having the option to enter alone, with a posse, or a full team needs to be added. The option to increase difficulty - increased rewards Challenge modes - Pistols only etc Drip feed of new locations Unique clothing item or gun skin for completing it on hardest difficulty - incentive for Vets who don't need gold/cash/xp Edited August 17, 2021 by Ring Dang Do FRIDA_KAHLO, Veleno, AltiMetro and 2 others

Once you know where the cannons are, it's important to take out the gunner(s) at the beginning of the round. You'll see them coming down the hill behind the cannon. I painted them 2-3 times with the bolt action, that killed them. Think they start showing up at wave 7. Wave 7 has 1 gunner, the rest have 2 I think. Rabid Vulpix
Even without the special 3x event it's worth it in my opinion. 1 bar of gold, $300, 2500xp in a quick run of Blackwater isn't too bad at all, especially when waiting for easy legendary bounties like Yukon Nick cooldown. Plus the game mode is just simply entertaining, no weapon degrading concerns, & quite the interesting random players you can get matched with. The levels are a bit easy if you know the right spots, some of them make a few of the levels easy to solo. - White Balcony in Blackwater. - Front of House Balcony in Macfarlane's Ranch. - Front of Hotel Balcony in Strawberry. - Hotel Bedrooms in Valentine. - Ground Level Behind Northeast Stairs in Fort Merser. Valentine was the challenge for me overall both when solo and with other players, but once I started using the hotel bedrooms after wave 7 it wasn't too bad. Since figuring out a player can push down the heavy/armored guys, that made things alot easier on that level. As others have said, there are certainly unpolished aspects of the mode though. There's some sort of forced timer when only a few enemies remain in a wave & they are out of bounds. They will be killed off after a set duration of time so you aren't stuck on the last few of a wave. However it doesn't seem to apply to heavies/armored npcs, as once in a Fort Mercer run, one of those guys wouldn't advance & brought the match to a halt. (Had to blow myself up at wave 9 since he was the last enemy & the forced timer didn't kick in for him.) As well I still have no idea the exact parameters of how the ammo boxes actually work, because I'm getting different results on different levels. The npcs not always staying in there relocated positions is also a bit annoying yet not a big deal. The only really bad annoyance are the randoms that think they can keep running around out in the open taking the enemies head on after wave 8, get killed, then spam angry messages to "hurry up" and clear the level by myself when there still are 55+ enemies left. lol Edited August 18, 2021 by Rabid Vulpix netnow66, 4eyedcoupe and Direwrath

Your story about getting "hurry up" messages reminds me of riding in the back seat of my grandpa's car when I was about 10. The car behind him was tailgating him, flashing his lights to let him know to speed up. Well, that made him slow down even more.... and he was laughing the whole time. :) Red Lynx 23 and Direwrath

How do I get on it? It’s the one just above the door right? BTW: Was playing Mercer yesterday and in wave 8 the armour dude was the last I had left. So I ran up on him with my Litchfield and punched him with the butt of my repeater. He didn’t go down of course, but I just kept hammering away. Must’ve caved in the whole helmet on him. So much fun. Next time I’m using the hammer for it. 4eyedcoupe, netnow66 and Rev. Gnash
