Leftovers from previous games

Since RDR2 is on PC for plenty of time and people were definitely digging game files, I wanted to ask.

What leftovers were found for this period of time? Code, models, textures, sounds - I just want to know  about their existence.

I found a couple of GTA V gun sounds in the files, primarily the pump shotgun sound and the combat mg one.

on a side note i have heard that people found parachutes in the files. i dont know how to do all of that modding and looking in the files. i just heard about it.

wow that is so cool. is that stuff usable? can you fly the plane and shoot the gun? its so funny seeing modern day stuff in 1899.

No, it's only low poly models.

that's not leftovers, those models were imported from GTA V using map editor. this was back when people were still testing the streaming method for map editor in early 2021

the game is built up on gta v's codebase (from ~2015) so code-wise almost everything that was a part of gta v until ill-gotten gains part 1/2 update is in rdr as well

 

notably:

-weapon flags

-vehicle flags (curiously, it has also brand new flags for gta that were never actually added to gta v)

-vehicle types (car, bike, submarine car (that's a cut sp dlc leftover from 2014 so that's why it's there), quadbike, blimp, etc)

-car customization support (aka modkits, in fact it was improved from gta v, in rdr there is no modkit id's so unlike gta v they're limitless)

-license plate support (at the very least the data that defines the textures, font size & color, etc)

-window tint support (at the very least the data that defines the colors)

-other customization support (siren settings, custom wheels, xenon lights)

-handling flags

-handling data (for bikes, cars, planes, submarines, etc. most of those subhandling data were cleared out though so there's no parameters that can be set)

-ai task data for cars, helicopters, submarines, etc (as above, some of it was cleared out)

-pre-doomsday heist jetpack, parachute, and scuba gear task data

Those aren't leftovers from files, those are models ported from GTA V to RDR2 using RedM converter and MapEditor. People really need to look for trustworthy sources before start posting false information like that

Also these models are not LOD or low poly, they are just textureless.
