BadSportAbort
My apologies if this belongs elsewhere, but since I am experiencing this with all the new Tuner Races, I thought I would post it here. Do you have to be a Dick, or Dirty driver in order to win a race? I am a clean diver, the goal is to get from A to B so for me, running people off the road is counter productive to progress. I've been on 4 lane roads, on the far right, and someone came from the far left just to push me off the road. I was racing with a friend yesterday and he asked, did that guy just swerve across 4 lanes to knock you out of the race? I told my friend, who was the host, you need to make up your mind, do you want dirty drivers in your races. He laughed and said, he was ok with it. Well, he was okay until the next race and the same guy I called out ran him off the road 3 times. I told him, drift into me, fine. Draft me, fine, but if you deliberately hit me, you are not racing, you are disrupting. That same player in the next race, started driver the reverse course just to cause havoc. Finally, my friend kicked him, but come on. I've been racing for years with Need For Speed, Grand Turismo, players don't drive like that. What makes it worse is in a pursuit Race, you have cope and traffic, now I need t worry about idiot players. They might as well make it GTA style and give me weapons and pickups, at least that way I could protect myself.
Erased
This sh*t happened to me last night. I randomly joined a Hot Ring race and I got 2nd in the first race and then joined the group/party in the second race...one lap to go I was in first by a lot (10+ car lengths probably) and the guy came up sucked up the slip stream/draft and I even gave him room to duke it out with me a bit towards the finish because I mean that's what you do but he came up from behind probably doing about 120mph and rammed the back of my car as hard as he could and drove right by as I spun out & flew off the edge of the track because it was one of those spins you can't control. I ended up in 7th and then quickly got a in-game text from him "haha you suck loser" I was pissed.
topkek
Yeah that's what u get when the player base consists of 10yr olds who can't even drive in this game. The racing community in GTAO has always been very toxic, but over the years i've learned how to avoid rammers and i can pretty well predict other players movements. Had a really good laugh the other day when racing in a street race. Was neck to neck with this other dude, and i knew he was gonna pull a dirty move at some point because it was almost the end of the race. Just when he was about to swerwe right into my side, i hit the brakes and he missed me by a couple of inches and ran straight into a tree, causing me to take the lead and win the race. Lol. ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
At least you don't have both Dirty Drivers and Illegal No2 Boosters since they no longer have access to the No2 Boosters like they did on PS3/360 where the whole race you heard nothing but horn spamming (the key the No2 Boosters used) My favorite thing to do was when I saw someone who was about to try and pit me i'd slam on the break just as they were about to attack only for them to crash themselves and that's why i'm glad R* introduced the option to have ghost racing so you can't race dirty, it's the only kind of race i'll do but it's been quite a while since i've raced did they get rid of that or are the host just too afraid to use em because they know they can't win without being dirty? tsto
GTA Online's racing unfortunately suffers from the toxic air that permeates throughout the online experience in general but the main issue is that as someone pointed out in another thread, there is almost no weight to the cars and the aggressor can easily knock out the other guy with a simple love tap. That's all it takes. Whenever I get a chance to host, which isn't often, I always turn on non-contact. The poor sports always leave when that happens. They just can't take it that their petty grief mentality strategies can't be used. If I want to change it up and keep contact on, I at least turn off slipstream and catch up. Slipstream is a cause for many accidents too. If you go to Jobs under the Online menu option and choose a particular race from the Rockstar Created list from there, there's a chance you'll host. If you do so from Assisted Aim - Partial lobbies, you have a better chance of getting players to join. This way you can set the non-contact feature on and not have to worry about the scummy ones. Jenkiiii
Controversial, but IMO, what better place than Pursuit Races to act like a turd if that's your style of play? Cops, traffic, bad weather, night time, aggressive players and every possible ingredient to behave badly, but this is then being taken across into other racing modes, which is frustrating for people who like to race clean. This can only mean one thing: Rockstar don't want us to take racing too seriously and never intended GTA to be a dedicated racing game. The game was always intended to be a mix of cars and crime and subsequent raging at the screen from time to time, which will never change. Even in dedicated racing crews, there are so many tricks to get unfair advantages such as curb boost, short shifts, brake boosts, front/rear weighting bias, etc.; it never feels 100% fair because it's still PVP, just a different type of PVP with less obvious crashing and amateur driving, so I kind of understand why Rockstar want to get things back to basics and give poor and inexperienced drivers an entry point back into the game. in the meantime, I just shout at the screen when it gets too much and try and live with it. Mexicola9302
Yeah there will always be a-holes that ram on purpose, if they do that i just ram the rammer too, fight fire with fire. It feels good getting revenge. if you get rammed by somebody, and you managed to pay it back to him before the race ends, and then win yourself. EkaSwede
And then there are those people who are just so bad at drivig that they might just be driving with their d*ck. The true D*ck Driver.
KiTTYReCkless
This is Grand theft auto. We play as crooks. Why would you expect everyone to drive like your grandparents? If you want clean racing play grand Turismo or Forza. Or join a dedicated racing crew with rules and such.

In my experience, people who intentionally ram, it is beyond rare that they ever actually win a race, usually because in the act of ramming, they spin themselves out in the process. They're not usually functional people, the type that'll drive full speed into the side of a player in the process of taking a shortcut, only to jam themselves and the other player in between the walls of the shortcut watching every other player zoom past, all while holding the accelerator and left simply wondering why they're not advancing in the lap. El Diablo 702
If racing is your thing in this game join one of the many “racing crews”. Racing is just as much if not more toxic than free roam lobbies.
GTA-Biker
I remember doing a race with a bunch of randoms a couple of weeks ago, just as the DLC was released.I was doing better than I expected, already managed to get to the second place in the first lap, when some douche spun me out with a pit maneuver, making me fall back all the way to the last place.I managed to get to the third place by the end of the last lap,and passed the same douche again, who was in second place, maybe 30-40 feet from the finish line.He sped up and tried to spin me out again, but since we were so close to the finish line,he actually pushed me across the finish line sideways before he passed himself. He was probably pissed lol.Funniest thing is,I wasn't even going full speed, which is why he managed to catch up and spin me out again,if he played fair and just passed me,he would have been in the second place instead of me,but he tried a dick move and ended up third because of it.Karma is a bitch lol Edited August 13, 2021 by GTA-Biker

There is a way around it that i've seen people do is wait until the last second then turn the non-contact on just as you're about to go to the vehicle selection screen it's a bit dirty pool but makes it a non-contact race without everybody leaving before the race and if they do leave after the race starts it counts as a loss on their stats if I remember correctly and most of them are so stuck on their stats they won't want a "loss" on their records On 8/10/2021 at 11:42 AM, OzakiLeona said: Host your own race and set it to non-contact. Cahill--EFC
Street Races & Pursuit, seems to bring out the Dick in everyone. No one seems to brake when approaching a turn, they would just crash into you...... we have enough to deal with by the overpowered Cops. which there are far to many (even set on 3 stars)
