Dark Silver
If you move too far from the center of the map, then CJ starts to shake, textures flicker. How to fix this? Using limit adjusters doesn't help. At a distance of 60 kilometers it is already noticeable. Here's a quote on why this is happening: Oh, just floating point errors. There are only 23 bits of precision in position data. That means that smallest increment you can move something by is one eight-millionth. Actual rendering is done in camera space, so that isn't an issue, but positions of objects and bones in characters are measured with respect to world origin. So if you get 1,000 miles from the map, the smallest increment you can even move anything by is over half of a foot. Hence the shaking and bouncing. This isn't particularly hard to get around. Someone just had to say, "Hey, we want to be able to do this and not break the game." Which they obviously didn't need to, since the entire map is just 6km across.
