The Velum is an interesting dilemma. It’s arguably the most boring, lazy mission left (basically a trimmed version of Intel gathering). However I find it incredibly useful. If you have a disguise and two cocaine at the airport, the Velum is arguably the best entry point, because the mission to source it is the quickest and easiest by quite some margin. The Longfin is obviously more versatile, but not always the best entry vehicle for $/hour depending on the loot spawns.

 

So, the Velum mission is boring, but sometimes very useful.
