The Getaway

I've always wondered how "The Getaway" really was cuz everyone would talk about it, I would see the commercials, then I would read some posts here on how much The Getaway sucks.

 

Well I think....if YOU think the Getaway sucks, you must be either gay or stupid.

 

This game is str8 up HARDCORE just like I like games to be.  This is the first game EVER that I think should've been rated "AO" for adults only instead of mature.

 

Don't get me wrong, there was some things I hate about the game such as a boring ass city to roam around in. (is London really that boring?)  There are no cool alleys to cut down, no bad-ass ramps, no nothing but streets, cars, and crap.

 

But I love the on-foot action and I think the next GTA should learn a few things from Getaway.  It kinda reminded me of Max Payne with a touch of Splinter Cell...the way you can creep on the walls, take a blind shot (very cool) take a hostage, shoot him or break his neck, shoot just about anything, and the AK47!!!

 

Plus the cars are so realistic, you ram sombody head on and you feel it.  You get the sensation of a real car accident...you get scared, the dude you hit get's messed up, your car gets all messed up...it's not like you ram someone at full speed and just take off like nothing happened.   The way the glass shatters when they are shooting at you!

 

The storyline is the best part I think....true the cut-scenes are long and you can't skip them, but they are the coolest cut-scenes I've ever seen in a game.  The drama is so intense it puts you right there in the action.  You are actually pumped up and scared right along with Mark.  GTA 3 and Vice had the whole mob thing going on.....but with Getaway, I don't know, it's just so damn realistic and waaaaaay more hardcore.  Getaway makes Vice City look like a cartoon!

 

But I still love my GTA, I'm just rabbling cuz I read nothing but "the getaway sucks" on the web and I think it's pretty bad-ass.

But anyway there are a lot of people here that like the getaway, some hate it, they all have their own opinions, But vice city feels a lot more 'free' and all than the getaway, etc.

The Getaway is good with the great realism. But I will still say GTA beats it because GTA is a game of its own, freedom game (well, almost free).

The Getaway had good graphics but was easy to complete & that cheesed me off as I was ready for a hardcore game & it took me 2days to complete

 

So I think I'll stick with the GTA series

Honestly i think Vice is better than getaway because of its total fun and fake but cool cars, other than the getaway which are more realistic but what the heck it is your opinion and i can't do any thing about it

i didnt like how getaway had a small amount of missions.

I liked the getaway, that was until I completed it 2 days later. Its a fun game but once its done theres nothing left too do, while in gta you get fun things such as the dirt ring and taxi missions. Also I found the controlls to be really annoying and I felt the guy would only move in right angles. Its just really limited, if it had more fun stuff to do it would be way better, Oh!, I liked how you could do any mission after ytou had completed it in the getaway and you can skip videos by pressing r3.
