Humane Labs - Key Code won’t complete

My friend is hosting the Humane Labs Heist, but no matter how many times we complete the Key Codes setup (about 10 times now), it won’t register on the planning board as complete. 
 

WHAT HAPPENS

We start the heist setup, and complete it. We get the successful completion overlay, we get our rankings, we get paid, get our RP. But when we go back to the planning board, it doesn’t show as completed. We tried doing the Insurgents setup, and that one completes fine, and shows on the board as completed. But we can’t progress any further without the Key Codes registering as complete. 

 

WHAT WE’VE TRIED (UNSUCCESSFULLY) TO FIX IT

* Cancelling the entire heist, and starting from scratch. 
* Having everyone already in the apartment when the key code is delivered. 
* Having nobody in the apartment when the key code is delivered. 
* Having the host deliver the key code. 
* Having someone other than the host deliver the key code. 

Nothing works. 

 

Any suggestions? This is absolutely infuriating. My friend is a new player lured in by the Tuners DLC, but he’s ready to just give up on the game entirely after this.

That won’t help my friend unlock the other heists unfortunately. I’m not keen to test it as I have the Pac Std finale test to go on my character, but I guess I could ask my friend to join a random Key Codes invite.

Actually it will. You can unlock the apartment heists for yourself just by playing them all (all setups and finales)

• you don't have to be host
• they don't have to be played in order
• they don't have to be played with same team

If his heist won't save progress, maybe you could host Humane, Series A and Pacific Standard for him (since he is already hosting Humane, no need to replay Prison Break or Fleeca)

 

(this does not work for future heist updates that start from a business and require you to be CEO/MC. Any progress in those is for the host only)

Do you mean he calls Lester to cancel this heist? I thought that ability was locked until you had completed them all? Or do you mean quitting and starting the setup again?

Do you mean he calls Lester to cancel this heist? I thought that ability was locked until you had completed them all? Or do you mean quitting and starting the setup again?

Unlocking all heists by simply playing them all (not as host) was news to me. We might have to try that then. 
 

And yes, he was able to call Lester and cancel the Heist, then restart it (from scratch) on the planning board. There was a short cooldown, and then Lester called and gave the initial speech about doing the job again.

Update: my friend accepted a random invite to Key Codes. After competing it with the random, he was then able to host it himself and it successfully competes on the planning board this time. Problem solved.
