[PS2 Only?] "Creepy" GTA San Andreas Audio Bug I found long time ago that no one ever knew yet?

So I found a pretty weird and creepy bug long ago (somewhere around 2007-2008) that seem to be only possible on the PS2 version (and it only seem to work on the PS2 console itself also because of the loading speed) Tried it on emulators but with no luck. I also tried it on the PC version (also with the use of slower devices in the hope the glitch can be reproduced) But here also with no luck.

The glitch is easy to reproduce:

1.First drive to any water/sea and make sure the water ambient is played! (the loading sound of your PS2 will also make a different noise)

2.Now get a car without doors. (Best thing is you remove the driver's door or use the vortex hovercraft)

3.Turn up the sound (on tv) because it is mostly really quiet

Now that you have everything prepared you can perform the glitch!

4.Get in the car and...

5....immediately exit the car before the Radio Station can "get in" (this needs the correct timing to work!) It had to be the moment after it changes the color!

If it's done correct you will hear a short loop repeating of one of the songs playing in a dark pitched tone. (The song is a random one from the radio station you switch)

It also will go louder if you rotate the camera under the water and out of it again

How it happened before I knew how to perform it:

It happened 2 times randomly before I really knew how it is performed (both where back in 2007-2008)

1.I tried to get the Monster Truck (at the camping place) and landed inside the water with a Hotring Racer (flying cheat) nearby and exiting it (possibly by changing radio stations at the same time)

2.I drove out of bounds (to the east) with a vortex exiting it (also possibly by changing radio stations at the same time)

How I found out how to perform that bug?

Tested was this first at the san fierro beach by randomly entering/exiting cars and the vortex

Also interesting was at the time how the loading noise changes if you enter a water area

It possibly can be performed on other ambient sounds as well, but I never tested this.

This was only tried on the PS2 "EU Version" and PC version, not sure if it will work on other platforms too.

I could have made a video... well I don't have a PS2 now :/

Huh, this is interesting. Still wondering what makes the pitch go down 🤔

I'm keen to test this, as I have both the PS4 port and an original copy of the game and a PS2 set up. Any video I could provide would be amateur 2006 tier as I do not have a way to record my PS2 tests, but the PS4 allows for recording so if it works on that we'll see better results. It seems that the most finnicky aspect of this is the radio timing, providing that the only condition is that we need to be close enough to a body of water to trigger the loading boundary and hear the ambient noise.

Haha, just tested it, and it works!

It doesn't work every time though, I had to try maybe 8 times, and now there's a beat playing all the time... sounds like CJ's heart :D

Then I tried it another 8 or so times. Now it plays a WCTR girl speaking on repeat. Both times I used a Primo that I beat up with a fist to get the doors off on the beach near Angel Pine. PS2, UK version.

It plays a random 0.5-1 second section of the last radio station that you had on in the car.

Nice find! I wonder how loud your telly was for you to discover this glitch...
