Auto Shop Customer Repair and Delivery Tips

Jamwes

Recommended Posts

There wasn't a thread dedicated to discussing the Auto Shop customer service repairs and delivery, so I thought I'd start one.

  • There seems to be a system for receiving a "Satisfaction" bonus, see the quoted post below. Are there any thoughts on activating this bonus?
  • I've seen posts about cars not being deliverable. Sometimes this seems linked to the cars being on the Exotic Exports list. Waiting a day or having staff deliver will fix these.
  • Entering the Auto Shop with a car makes the service bays not functional. Leaving and returning while on foot fixes this.

What other tips do people have?

So I read a guy's post here on the forums and noted he got upset with the wheel demand for an Auto Shop Repair car and got a bonus. for it.

I did the same and put some High End wheels on a car that wanted lowrider wheels and got a 5K bonus. I wonder if this is random or if there's a trick to it.

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

I've also been hit with a 2.5K penalty.

From my experience and experimenting, it seems quite random. It's either up to 5K more money or 5K less money. So when it comes to getting creative I stopped it a few days ago as I was tired of getting Sessanta's snappy messages upon customer dissatisfaction. But I guess I can make some notes for future deliveries tomorrow and see if it really is random.

Another tip for faster deliveries is that if you get a Grapeseed delivery or a delivery that's really far. just blow up the car and deliver it again. You shoud get a different destination and you lose no money.

One thing I am a little salty about is that we don't seem to have a statistic over how many cars we've serviced and delivered and how much total money we've made of that.

I've just started playing around with different options and haven't gotten the bonus yet. I've only tried a couple times though. If we do prove it's random, then I guess it's not worth going for. And if you  only lose 5k, maybe it's worth just slapping on some mods quickly instead of spending the few seconds it takes to read and find the requested mods.

The change I usually do is the wheels. Sometimes I do defy the customer's wish if they want me to put on something stupid on their car.

I wish. I've had this Nebula Turbo in my shop for a week, and a support ticket open for it almost a week.

Also the car on the other bay is something I may or may not interact with, depending on the alignment of the stars and the moon. If there is a logic to this, it escapes me.

I got a bonus on the first cars I delivered where I just picked out a custom job that I think was fine. Recently I've just gotten nothing, or less money because the customer did not like it.

In my experience this is what generally causes it. If you delivered the Exotic Exports (ExEx) to the docks that day it's *possible* it fixes it. I had a V-STR in my shop today and delivered it fine as I had collected all the ExEx cars first including the V-STR. (I put *possible* since I'm not sure if my V-STR was in the shop before it was crossed off which I guess is a variable. Sess texted me twice about cars arriving while I was searching for the ExEx.)

Also, earlier in the week I drove another V-STR that I didn't have crossed off to the delivery and it wouldn't click. So I took it to the docks but the ExEx circle wasn't there so I drove it into the water and got a brief "This is on the Exotic Exports list" before it was destroyed. So I'm also guessing the Cargobob+Friend method can be used to Export these (just not sure if you can do it twice)

Is there any way to get the full payout with the mechanic delivery? Would love to know how that’s supposed to work?

Also having a slight issue.

After activating a CEO business and hiring my friends, I've noticed all of them except one also receive the money from the car being delivered.
not sure why but its only the one guy, everyone else is fine!

They get what I f*cking give them. Minus five grand is nothing compared to me getting to try out fully modified cars.

Imagine me like these companies that "trick out" stuff like Range Rovers and replace all the badges and wheels with one of their company.

Finally got a $2,500 bonus. Followed most of the customer's requests except for wheels. He wanted off roads on a Tempesta. Instead I gave him some of the new wheels with all of the enhancements, like BP tires and changing the color to black. I also gave limo tinted windows, a spoiler, and sport brakes.

clinical oppression

I've gotten the bonus twice .....but I always give what they want .  if they didn't ask for turbo I give it to them. If they asked for transmission upgrades I give them exactly what they wanted but if they didn't ask for engine upgrade....I give them the best one

Did a delivery today where I only picked the first item for one thing in each of the categories. Nothing was correct. Ended up with a $2500 bonus.

I'm more wondering what triggers new car being available. I had 3 cars first 3 days after DLC release. Nothing since then.

I've done some more testing with this and it seems fairly consistent. When you start modding the car, if the color selector starts on black, then just paint the car black. For each of the rest of the categories (performance, bodywork, and wheels) just go into the first item, click up once to go to the bottom of the list, and apply the upgrade.

Four out of the last five times I've done this I got the $2,500 bonus. The one time I didn't get the bonus the color selector didn't start on black at the top of the list.

I had been using the trick to destroy the vehicle for deliveries across the map to generate a new location. It appears this has been patched. I blew the car up 4 times, each time I was given the same 5 mile destination. I blew the car up a 5th time and selected staff delivery.

I just love how Rockstar can patch any shortcut the community find to make money faster, but other bugs remain unaddressed. Clearly they read threads here and clearly they know what the community needs, but slowing down progress and payment is a tenant.

I've been picking max options for all performance upgrades not selected by the client has given me the $5000 bonus.  Granted it's only been about 5 cars so small sample size.

For some reason when delivering a car the yellow corona seems glitchy and buggy

5k off the pay isnt too bad of a risk to test drive a fully modded out car before returning it to the customer. Since you get reimbursed for all the mods it's definately worth the test drive. That's if you can actually interact with the damn car in the first place...I've delivered like 3 cars so far and have had 1 sitting in my shop for like 3 days, tried everything to fix it but still sits on my lift.

They may have fixed this.  If auto shop repair function not working just leave shop on foot then walk back in.

So I just got my first Bonus on a vehicle. However, it wasn't at all how most people on here got it. I built the vehicle to the exact specs the customer wanted, but added things that were extra such a Livery or Mirrors. In fact, the only thing that I differentiated from was when the customer wanted Concave Steelies on his Fagaloa, I obliged, however adding White Atomic lettered tires. That one little small difference netted me the 5K bonus. I took a shot of it as well to prove, but my old ass can't figure out how to upload shots on here from a phone. Kindov a long post I apologize, but I guess you really don't have to go out of the box to get the Bonus, even something as small as changing tires could make the difference.

Did all this and had a -$5,000 reduction. The video I posted above proves that it's all just random.

So we don't even need to follow customer requests to get the satisfaction bonus? The one time I didn't do exactly what the customer requested (no more, no less), I lost 5k. Is it really random?

I always give the customer what they request and then add other stuff they don't ask for and I've never gotten a satisfaction change from it either way.

I laugh quite a bit since it feels like customers got a word of mouth that I give out free brakes. I'd guess like 70% of customers don't ask for brakes and just expect me to give them turbo, engine and/or transmission upgrades with factory brakes. From a gameplay perspective, I'm not taking the risk of damage by driving their car back with sh*t brakes. From a roleplay perspective, I can't imagine many reputable shops would slap a bunch of speed upgrades to a car and not touch the brakes.

Looks wise, I slap on a lot of stuff in categories they don't ask for. It feels like around 50/50 if the paint/tires/etc. they pick look good on the car to begin with. If they do I'll add a couple things to make it look better. If it looks stupid I'll just add a bunch of sh*t to make it even uglier. Also, I've never once had a livery request.

Nope. I've had a swinger in my first repair bay for 2 days now. No amount of walking out/in, driving out/in, logging off with full system reboot, etc will let me work on it.

And since it got stuck, I have not had any other cars show up either.

This update had more bugs than a corpse picnic.

Edit: closed game, full ps4 reboot, logged back in, was able to fix the car.

Just got another bonus, this time I did the same exact thing following the customer's orders, but instead of installing a set of Lowrider wheels I went with a set of Street wheels. This is the second time I've gotten a bonus doing nothing more than changing wheels or tires.

I Got a 5k bonus for installing all the cosmetic upgrades they asked for but bumping the performance mods.

Third Bonus, third time all I've changed differently was wheels. I hate to sound like a broken record here, but changing only the wheels seems to be a working thing for me. Choosing the Street or Track wheels almost always nets me a bonus, and if they want Street or Track wheels then give them lettered tires.
