If you bring them the materials they will craft you ammo over time that you can then collect when needed. My addition to the topic is that there should be some form of mild economy in the game, certain Traders should be low on certain things and pay more if you bring them the item. Instead of it magically being Gus at every Trapper stall it should have been generic NPC's that work for him. Each Trader would buy certain pelts for a higher price that week. Wickahoney
- the ability to unequip our coat and gunbelt like we can with bandanas, hats and gloves. - have our horse's cores fill when they go into the grazing animation. - give us the npc idle animations so our characters aren't awkwardly standing around. - the ability to reorganize the order of items in the weapon/item wheel. - let us remove our horse's saddle. - rebalance the stats of the improved/special/role saddles and the stirrups so they're on par with the nacogdoches/hooded stirrups combo. - rebalance the horses so every coat within a breed has the same stats. éX-Driver
I want them to completely redo Online. Make it into a survival-based RPG. Less about just mindlessly chasing money, and instead about trying to survive. With money being a tool you can use to do that. •Dying should cause you to lose whatever you have in your satchel, and your hat/boots if a player chooses to steal them. To avoid losing things in your satchel, you should have to store things at your camp. •Your satchel carrying capacity should be significantly lower across the board; say only space for 4-6 different food items altogether and a handful of collector goods. Enough room for only around 50 or so bullets of all types combined, forcing you to ration out how much ammunition you want for each weapon class whenever you want to explore outside of your camp. For example: you can have 20 revolver rounds and 30 repeater rounds, or 48 rifle rounds and 2 shotgun shells, or any other combination. Bandolier obviously increasing how much you can carry at one time. •The health core should drain at a much faster rate, forcing you to eat at least once an in-game day to prevent your character from dying of starvation. Cold weather should drain it quicker as well, and swimming in cold water should nuke your health core in a few seconds. •If your horse dies, it should be permanent. •Guns should have the chance to permanently break if you continually fire one at minimum cleanliness, forcing you to buy another one. •Cash, gold and payouts of both should be completely changed to better reflect the prices and pay of the era. For example, a tin of beans should cost about 5¢. A Colt Revolver around $4. Completion of a basic odd job like ‘deliver a wagon’ should be around $2. •Player blip visibility should be based on your bounty level, with a bounty of $0 making your blip invisible no matter the range, whilst a bounty over $12-ish making you visible across the map. •Roles, odd jobs, and player-owned tools like wagons should be more dynamic and free-form in their use. For example, if you have your regular wagon out you gain access to NPC odd-jobs asking you to move goods around the map whilst tasked with not damaging them. If you have your hunting wagon out, NPC jobs built around hunting a set number of a specific animal become available. Things like that. Then there’s more roles/jobs that can be offered like ranch hand, horsebreaker, gambler, and so on. ——— These are just basic ideas, there’s more things I’d want done as well. But this is a good start in the direction Red Dead should’ve gone from the beginning. Really lean into the survivalist aspect the single player story touched on but didn’t really build on as much as it should’ve. I think these changes would make the game based much more on world immersion and trying to survive, rather than just running around shooting sh*t at random. If you want to earn a living furtrapping, you can do that. If you want to make a living as a gambler, you can do that as well. Every life path has its own choices and consequences and risks. You’re far more likely to get shot and lose important stuff if you’re playing as a bounty hunter as compared to shovelling sh*t on a farm, for example. But being a bounty hunter (against both NPCs and rival players) pays far more. I think this would open up a world of gameplay opportunities. Let’s say you don’t want to bother with the Frontier life. You can buy a flat in St Denis, and just live off the cash you make on the riverboat casino or doing odd jobs for the Mafia. Maybe you want to hang up your gunbelt and run a saloon? Then just retire to your moonshine hut and manage your stock of ‘shine and beer and whisky and the like. Or maybe you fancy running a trading company. Then with just your trusty wagon, you can make a name for your fledgling business by running regular deliveries around the map. Any one of these paths could offer long-term progression. For example, the ranch hand one could initially start with just milking cows and shovelling sh*t. But eventually you unlock missions like horse breaking and even participating in cattle drives. Working for the mafia could start with simply shaking down wharf rats for loan money, but the more you prove yourself the more you gain access to jobs like getaway driver and protection, and even assassinations of high-profile people in the city. Your saloon could start out with no patrons and barely any income, but the more drinks you serve and deliveries you make, the higher the passive daily income would be. Proper immersion and investment; a real MMORPG. Edited December 28, 2021 by éX-Driver FRIDA_KAHLO and kcole4001

FRIDA_KAHLO
I would like to be able to name the temporary posse or give a basic message about it. So right now, there is good reason to be highly skeptical on random posse invites with no context. And there is a lot of chance of inviting randos to do something they don't want to do. But simply naming it like "Come play call to arms!" or "Pick herbs then drink", could make open temporary posses and invites much more attractive - as well as much more effective, I thought On 12/16/2021 at 2:43 AM, awanderers1877 said: Be able to purchase all ammos & tonics from showdown waiting lobby I love it - like a concession stand! SpaceBeagle
Because this is a "Basic functionality wishlist thread" - I wished that game had proximity based text-chat, so when you meet & greet someone you can say 'Hi!', do some text chat a bit if there is a answer, and maybe help each other or just ride around - not everyone is able or with opportunity to use voice. It could have several useful text channels that you can select or deselect (for possy, jobs, global,...). For me personally it is simply not practical to use voice comms, I 'lost' my hobby&game room 2y ago when pand. started. To be honest I never even heard people talking in sessions (I remember 2 germans once, and that's it )... plus, Discord-crap dont work at all in overlay for chat when you are using Vulkan drivers in RDO FRIDA_KAHLO and kcole4001
RyuNova
Said it a few times but the ability to mix and sell Tonics to Doctors, even if it's just for a few dollars per topic. All of this WITHOUT the need to buy a Role, just buy the Tonic Pamphlets. Selling tonics you find as well and obviously the more complex or special the tonic the more you get. And the ability to sell stuff we find. FRIDA_KAHLO and kcole4001
Enchilada
Using the actual satchel as a mechanic to use your inventory items. I’m sooo tired of seeing players spam their tonics while in motion or during combat. Just like the drop down menu, your player should stop and dig into his pockets to use items. Rockstar strives on realism, they should know this. I know we’re so supposed to be the best gunslinger but don’t tell me you alone can take out a whole posse without all these abilities that exists in this game; headshots are not even guaranteed in this game for crying out loud! Actually, you know what? fix the game first, then we’ll talk about functionalities. Nerfgoth and FRIDA_KAHLO

Being drunk removes your ability to lock on, so why can you chug unlimited tonics and feel nothing? Over time the level would go down but not quick enough to spam them in a fight.
