Lately, I have been watching some indie westerns; it motivates me, to play RDO.

 

The Ballad of Lefty Brown and Old Henry both work as Muse.

Wait, I thought they were already going to upgrade the game for the new consoles? If not, why wouldn't they? 

Isn't that the big deal going on with GTAV now?

 

Since it seems like any new release games from them are at least a few years away they would be foolish not to offer their high drawing games on the new systems, and RDR2 is still pretty popular as far as I can tell.

Recently watched Old Henry and Lefty Brown too. They were helpful in bringing me back.  I'll have to check out That Dirty Black Bag. Thanks for the tip

Old Henry has the makings of becoming a  "cult classic".

@Rev. Gnash @4eyedcoupe  I have Roku and have been gathering a playlist of old westerns but I would love to catch some that I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing those, I'm gonna check them out.

RDO on Reddit and Discord.  That's where I go more frequently nowadays.

Gaming subreddits mostly suck ass. They’re just massive pissing contents and toxic environments you can’t even engage in constructively. You have an opinion someone doesn’t like? Your input gets hidden and moved to the bottom of the page. What kinda decent community does that? Reddit sucks. 

 

Discord is a lot better, but a lot of admins I’ve seen over recent years revel in banning new people, and to go so far as blocking new contributions unless they add their cellphone numbers for security. Like dude, I’m just looking to make some friends, not hand out my social security number! What other information ya want? Sheesh.

 

That being said, I do use Reddit now and idgaf about karma, so actively contribute to the hidden activity at the bottom of posts because that’s where the juice usually is. Better to have a stimulating albeit insulting conversation  than one where everyone just circlejerks OP to farm fake internet points. It wouldn’t matter so much if input wasn’t hidden, but it is and that’s where I draw the line. It’s counterproductive asf. I’ve always appreciated GTAF having some actual civility.

Most do - but the RDO subreddit imo is definitely one of the better ones because overall the RDO community is just a higher quality one.

I'm a fairly selective person, so I wouldn't give a recommendation lightly.  But specifically the reason why I cited both is because the subreddit and the discord are the same community in this case.

And yeh - idgaf about karma either.  I've had a reddit account for like...8 years?  my karma is maybe 1600.  i know people that have been on reddit for less than a year and their karma is 10k+.

Hmmm, the RDO Daily Challenges Discord server [https://discord.gg/YDQyjTz7Gq] isn't exactly an RDO community. but it could be one though, just need more people to be more active and more people to join (currently 870 members) as currently it is just a Discord server for rdodailies.com but it now has its own Discord bot (added two weeks ago) that can be added to Discord servers etc...

I have been debating on getting either one of those for a time.

Discord is where a few Tumblr players I know go to do online roleplaying and the like, which is something I think might be fun to do (as long as it's not some crazy weird stuff). They even have get togethers like RDO trail rides and stuff which sounds like a ton of fun, if only they weren't all on PC. One of these days I may get bold and jump on there though.

As for Reddit I have heard so many things from the Tumblr RDR community about how people tend to sour the fandom for others there, so I've been rather iffy about getting into that. 

I think to myself that if it's that bad for an RDR community, I can only imagine how bad it is for some of the other games I love?

Did a lot of bounty hunting this weekend. I had previously left most of the infamous bounties untouched saving them for a dry spell. So I started them this weekend. Also did a bunch of legendary bounties which only reminded me that they lack freedom of choice.  We should be able to choose what level bounty we want to do. Most of the five star bounties I cant do on my own and makes me skip them after a certain point if no friends are online....and in this current drought, friends arent playing this game at the moment. Also reminded that our charachters need a voice!

Thanx, I'll add it to my watchlist, I loved Deadwood and Hell on Wheels (especially Cullen Bohannon, so hot) so I hope this one will be available for me to watch soon.

This is why I’ll always prefer the OG RDR multiple characters. Tons to choose from with funny and badass lines when pressing the button to speak. There was nothing like getting a satisfying headshot on another player or even an NPC and have the character say (in this case my boy Abraham Marsh) “I f*cked your sister” or my personal fav when I played as Uncle was “You’re dead you son of a bitch”. Also, playing with Red Harlow himself was cool as well.
