me and my buddy played it last weekend for hours...after 1 year absence.

we did literally nothing but travel and chill.its still amazing, the graphics, the look, the armosphere....

 

BUT after a few hours you recognize the lack of content and thats it....

Did my first Trail ride this weekend and it was a blast! Just wished R* tuned down the hostility of the NPC you meet on the road!

In the lead up to RDR II, GTA Online had very few people working on it so we got stuff like Nightclub and Arena War instead of big amazing things like Doomsday and Cayo Perico(The models for both the earlier ones suck too btw! Look what they did to Tony!). They're likely doing this again, RDO's abandoned, GTA's likely going to get more 'Contract' centric updates and new cars and nothing 'big'. I don't get what the big deal is anyways, Online sucked ass! RDR II is one of the best SINGLE PLAYER games ever but Online was just a complete joke! You couldn't rob banks, trains or even f*cking stores!

If Rockstar isn't going to update/support Red Dead Online any longer, they could make its exclusive weapons available in Story Mode already then, the Navy Revolver, the Elephant Rifle and the Improved Bow. Come on Rockstar, my boy Arthur needs some new toys to play with, the last time Story Mode got new weapons was more than 2 years ago already...

Of course they didn’t mention what their expectation was. They say this generic statement all the time. If you have no expectations then of course any performance at all will beat expectations.

 

Odd how none of the investors ever ask what the expectations were. Without knowing that the statement is meaningless. If RDO was doing good they would say it.

Why would Rockstar not just let people design their own missions and events using the game code?  There is enough of a fan base, they get unpaid labor and people design stuff that is interesting.  Something like a FiveM for console would be amazing, and I would pay for it.  Makes no sense

Yep. It's over. T2 straight up lied in their conference call saying "Red Dead Online has received a series of updates this quarter".

I'm done. I already stopped playing almost a year ago now, but I think I'm just done with this game overall, and also done paying attention to it. It's not worth the time and effort anymore. There are hundreds of other superior live service games that deserve your attention. With passionate devs that listen to their fans, that make quality updates at a frequent pace.

 

And to those that are still clinging onto this sinking ship, for only god knows why, I suggest you start a full on boycott of RDO if you're willing to see it through to the end. Because this is the last resort. Nothing else will make them listen besides hitting them where it hurts the most, which is their money. If they are so deadset on killing the game, take them down with you. Start review bombing the game, stop buying gold bars, stop playing the game entirely.

 

You should all just shift to RedM instead.

The other possibility is they are working on an update and don't want to say anything with the idea they'll treat it like throwing meat at us.  Take it, now eat it, now be quiet.  That's the critical part... if they throw it at us, will everyone stop their digital rioting?  If that's the case, then they'll do it again and again in the future.

while i have no doubt that there are other great games with good developers. are these same games open world wild west games? no so red dead is the only western game that is popular anymore.  we need more western games. if more developers made them. i probably would stop playing rdo for a while. but until then im still playing red dead.

Imagine making the 2nd best selling game in the past three years (43 million units). And not giving, that title any new weapons, new bounties, or a DLC?

If it's gotten this far with how they've treated it, why stray from that formula? People keep forgetting that R* and T2 do things from a business mindset first and foremost

There are some things we can understand from T2 call.

 

1- Main RDRII sales are still being acknowledged and as they said ... sales outperformed the T2 expectations during the quarter, which was probably because of last year discounts and the whole #SaveRDO protest which always bring people into both RDR and RDO.

 

2- T2 is going the full psycho route with the remasters and newer sequels for the next two years, i mean it is not only for R*, but still, the nostalgia cash grab of the Trilogy is something that made them motivated. (They are commited with that ugly GTA Trilogy, but not with RDO).

 

3- THEY HAD THE GUTS TO SAY THAT RDO HAD A LOT OF UPDATES ... I SWEAR I'M PLAYING THE WRONG GAME.

 

While seeing some RDR news is something, the lack of RDO news is already something to worry, like always the game still with one foot on the grave.

It is simple ... they used their (already known) trump card which was the "new GTA is in development" as announcement to:

 

- Make the stock rises. ($TTWO share was stabilizing once again).

- Silence the whole SaveRDO protest (which was something, even after all those times) and of course ...

- To make the mainstream gaming news outlets to push GTA as news (which also kills the whole possibility of SaveRDO tag to rise on trends).

 

T2 is the only company which after all those backlashes will be sitting on a golden throne because of how insanely powerful GTA became, a title which is enough to make the problems dissapear. (GTA Online is a mess on the PC version, GTA Trilogy was a fiasco and RDO ... they are almost closing the casket). Yet ...

I've done all of that, but RedM is out of the question for me because I play on console. Never bought gold either, actually I think I still have access to that bonus for buying gold for the first time.

If it were on the console I would definitely be playing there because I have been invited to so many groups who do play it.

But alas, now R* know they can literally do absolutely f*ck all and thrive. So that's always good news! /s.

 

Anyway, I expect they'll throw us a bone after E&E (summer, next Christmas, whenever). Just got to hope it's something more, and from there R* are more free to continue. But for now, it's just awful to see how poorly R* can do when we see them do far better elsewhere and thrive in unprecedented ways. I do hope they've taken this time to have a rethink as they must know there's money being left on the table by limiting this game so, anyway...

Last weekend i enjoyed some OG RDR multiplayer. So fun, full session, PVP gang matches are stilly very, very enjoyable. 

 

Full session on old gen and on more than 10 year old game. Quite amazing if you ask me.

The clown protest have killed RDO that was the most stupid protest I have ever seen.

R* have seen that most players are clowns and decided to bring up boring, upgrades with low effort just for clowns.

The pic above (minus the Rockstar Games logo of course) is from the Spaghetti Western “The Great Silence” (which by the way is a spaghetti western set in a wintery setting which is pretty freaking cool). Definitely recommend a watch! I also find it funny that I posted a logo on a film called “The Great Silence” considering that’s all there has been regarding RDO stuff these days.
