It's MLK Day in the US today and generally R* tweets come from the NYC offices where the social media teams are, this looks like it might've been scheduled for ages now due to the Sony deal ending soon.

I'm pretty sure they'll address or announce something regarding Red Dead this year.

As per speculating what they could do next, I believe it could be another next set of batch missions or role that would introduce new things in the game like owning a house, robbing banks, or cattle rustling.

I've been playing single player so I'm trying to come up what things they can bring over that they have already done.  Horse selling with those Davies twins probably.  But of course that's boring lol.

As per trying to speculate if next update will be a huge update that they can bring in the table,  Mexico would be my bet.  Hoping it is.  Since 2018.

I don't believe we'll get Guarma, or Mexico, or heists or anything of the sort.

Even buying properties is probably not on the cards.

Not trying to be pessimistic, just a healthy dose of reasonable expectation.

I expect:

Monthly updates to be the norm

New adversary modes and Call to Arms maps

If we DO get an actual release bigger than that, then it'll be an extension to an existing role; Trader or Collector.

I expect 1 DLC this year, plus Halloween.

That's it.

No news regarding a re-release for current gen - I struggle to see that being a thing at all, ever.

Perfectly reasonable.

Still disappointed that the new CtA maps they added over the holidays were only seasonal.  A real dick move from R*.   They basically said:   ”Want some new CtA maps? Here you go.   Zyke!   You’re gonna have to wait another 6 months for some new sh*t.”

I honestly don't know what everyone expects is gonna happen. Are they gonna come out and say "we hear your, there's more stuff coming soonTM". Probably not, they generally don't do that, they rather let their work speak for itself like they always did. They will also not say the game is dead, because that is news that the shareholders won't like.

In the end the shareholders are a major reason why RDO is the way it is. From the crappy timers spacing content, the low gold income and the super high gold prices for items. The game design is leaning incredibly hard into monetization and that is imo the reason that drove most of the casual players away. Nobody likes to do one mission then wait 40 minutes to do the next. And the casual players are the ones that bring in the money. They are the ones buying microtransactions, not all the people on twitter tweeting saverdo.

Rockstar does not care about the hardcore players. Those players don't pay the bills, those players aren't entitled to updates. Yes they bought the game, but that is it, they got what they paid for, nothing less, nothing more. So they won't care about all the ideas and concepts the hardcore players come up with either. Since a majority of those concepts are about blowing away the huge chunks of money and gold the hardcore players accumulated.

Everyone knew from the start that Red Dead doesn't have the reach like GTA has. RDO is just a mirror of that. Why would rockstar invest money to make an update for RDO when the ROI for GTA updates is so stupidly high on the other hand.

I'd have to disagree with this statement. You are looking at too short sighted. Hardcore players do pay the bills indirectly. They help bring in casual players, and they cause the need for casual players to play catch up and buy microtransactions.

This game is dying because Rockstar made a mess of the in game economy, and every attempt by them to fix it has been a failure.  Hardcore players started leaving, less casual players and no need for microtransactions beause they dont provide to keep the economy going. The only way to keep the economy going is to have players spend in game gold/cash, but they haven't provided enough content to do that. Now you have hardcore AND casual players sitting on mountains of gold with nothing to use it on or work toward.

It probably was planned for some time, but I'd be shocked if Rockstar closed thier NYC offices for MLK day. Most business dont close. Kids get the day off from school, government jobs, banks and the post office is closed. Other than that its business as usual everywhere else.

They could add properties and charge 500 gold for them. They could add other items and charge a shed load of gold. There are ways of rebalancing the economy because I actually think it’s a minority of players who are sitting on thousands of gold bars. Mainly players who post on this forum. For instance, I have been playing since beta and I only have 400 gold because of time limitations and I never really took advantage of the daily challenges before the nerf. Here’s the thing, everyone went ballistic when they nerfed the daily challenges but I actually think it was warranted in this case. I know that’s probably an unpopular opinion but there were players sitting on 3k gold bars 1 year into the games lifespan.

If we’re looking at it honestly the moonshine payouts are a bit too generous as well but I suppose you only get cash for those sales.

Thing is if they brought In properties and charged 500 gold all the players sitting on thousands of gold bars would complain anyway. But at least it would give players something to work towards who haven’t yet accumulated that amount of gold. I just think Rockstar are struggling to find ways to rebalance the economy without coming across as greedy b**tards and getting everyone’s backs up. The only way they can do it is to start charging s**t loads of gold for stuff (which they did start doing with gun variants and everyone complained including myself tbf).

Its the lack of things to buy in this game that is the main problem for me. Because that’s the main difference between GTAO  and RDO (partly due to the time the games are set in) is that GTAO just has a lot more stuff to buy. I think the gulf of content between GTAO and RDO is a bit exaggerated. If we’re making a direct comparison RDO has 5 ‘businesses’. Moonshiner, Trader, Collector, Bounty Hunter, Naturalist. GTO has probably a few more right but it’s a lot older game. So RDO has 5 and GTAO has what, 8? The other major difference is obviously heists.

Last year, the DLC Pack for Rockstar's internal qabeta was uploaded in early February. They also did the "Thank You" article. This year, T2 upcoming earnings call is on February 7th. Basically, chances are high we receive a response from Rockstar once we are closer to February.

Even if we don't receive a response, at least qabeta could receive a update. If we neither receive a response nor a qabeta update, then don't expect much until E&E releases.

Even if Rockstar bothers to acknowledge the fanbase, which they won’t, what are they even willing to deliver? I know that the last thing we need is more pessimism and negativity, all my recent posts have been like this, but I honestly cannot envision a RDO update that’s not either associated with roles or a continuation of Blood Money.

RDO has the disadvantage for Rockstar, and advantage for us, to make it extremely hard to jump the shark with nonsensical overpowered expensive weaponry. It still felt strange in GTAO when it first got introduced, and it still feels like strange now, but since GTA as a series is set in a satirical world with everyone and everything being a mockery of something, enough people were accepting it. Rockstar can’t just add a steam-operated metal horse that boils people alive or a Pegasus that poops carpet bombs, as it would be too forced and desperate, even by their standards.

Microsoft will just outbid them if it ever comes to that to get that GTA IP once and for all. And Take Two sure as hell aren't looking to be sold right now, they acquired Zynga just last week for over $12 billion.

I'm not in love with the idea of one corporation having so much control of anything (Disney has ruined so many beloved fandoms of mine). That being said, I would prefer to see RDO and anything RDR being taken away from these people. It's obvious that the actual people who put their heart into the world of RDR have gone elsewhere or backed away to let it fall into literal 🐎💩.

In a normal situation I would feel somewhat horrible for being so blunt, and I know that there are probably quite a few people working on this game (or, who were working on this game) that did try to make it worthwhile, but someone is sabotaging this game from the top down and it's ridiculous.

Yeah I don't think they're selling anytime soon either

I agree Microsoft would outbid them, there's no way they'd let them win if Taketwo was seriously considering selling. If they bought Activision for COD, then they'd buy Taketwo for GTA

I'd be more content with Microsoft as they still allow creative freedom(Hence why Bethesda is still focusing on Starfield and not Elder Scrolls), I'd be worried Sony would force them to pump more sh*t out since they're greedy sh*theads

I bought the wilderness travel skill page from the fence. I think it was $1250.

I've read the letter you get for it but it doesn't show up in weapon wheel.

I have not bought the naturalist role cause wc is the only thing I wanted

from it.

What do I need to do so I can use wc?

You have to unlock with naturalist role.  All you bought was fast travel from wc which you dont own yet.

This silence from Rockstar is disgraceful towards loyal fans. The only thing one might hope for is that they have something (hopefully big) planned that has been included in their roadmap for the game a long time ago (if they have any).

Mexico or RDR1 remake, it aint like they do not have the money.

For whatever happend with RDO though I will always give them credit for RDR2 as a singleplayer game, its fantastic, and it would be horrible if we never see another game in the series, I think we will considering the salesnumbers for RDR2 are very very good.

However if there is no RDR1 remake and RDO dies then I figure we are stuck with RDR2 singleplayer (if they shut down RDO completely) for a long time until another game comes along.

its so sad to see this section is so dead. i wish there was something to speculate. even if the next dlc was a few months away. it would be nice to at least know when we are gonna get something and what it will be about. if rockstar does not officially release an article saying that they are done with this game. then they should at least stop doing these discounts, because i feel like it gives false hope. it makes me feel like if they are still talking about this game. and doing these bonuses. then they might still have plans for the game. but even with this save rdo movement. they have done nothing in response. i just wish we knew what was going on with them.

After no update in December, no update in January and the "we don't talk about Red, Dead, Dead Online " after the SaveRedDeadOnline, is actually surprising see this section still alive lol

.... I wonder if GTAV E&E is really going to be a good thing, at this point i even expect that to be "good" because if RDO and the GTA definitive edition paid the consequences for that, only to be another disappointment well, it would be the last cherry on top in all the R* crap

It's like the movie Weekend at Bernies, you know the one where the rich guy is dead and two buffoons drag his body around and move him like he's still alive? Well RDO is Bernie, and whoever is in charge of it at the moment are those two buffoons and they keep pulling the strings but eventually things are just going to rot.

If they would just come clean we could all move on, but they cannot even grant us one little graceful mention and keep on posting their little rewards for the week instead. They seem to want to slight us, I don't know any other reason why any company would act this way?

To be fair I come here to engage with everyone, the game has become a second thought to me at this point. Lol, I try to log on here everyday even if I don't leave a post. It's been a few weeks since I last logged on in the game... 😉

Not saying that I would not love to have that desire to log into the game every day again, nor am I saying that I would not fight for the survival of RDO because I will.

Me and this game have a strange relationship, 😆

i have never seen or heard of that movie but it sounds silly. but that does sound like an accurate description of red dead now.
