I think Rockstar would be doing us all a favor if they shut down RDO. They no longer have to put up with the facade of caring about this game, and we’d all have one less thing to be stressed about in our free time.

I partially agree but the more realistic option is for you to move on personally and erase it from your memory

Or they could let us have our characters in an offline free roam style game, open up a sort of custom content/mod site where players can add their own creations, and let us play the game as we want it. I would love to be able to add some custom horse coats to the game myself, or even retexture some of the outfits to actually look right. "please"

Of course getting this to work for the console would be impossible. 

 

I would pay money for that option. 

 

The actual online part of this game means very little to me as I would be just as happy playing offline with my guy.  But I wouldn't want them to let it fail. There are so many newer players who are enjoying the game at the moment, even if some of us long term players feel the other way about it.

Maybe, but the pragmatic option would be for all of us to drop the hopes that this game will ever have its miraculous moment, it simply doesn’t print anywhere near as much money as GTAO, hence why Rockstar treats it as a bastard child by barely acknowledging its existence outside of the barebones and scarce updates.

 

I know that some people will be too stubborn to acknowledge it, but deep down, even they know that Rockstar discreetly despises this game. Old players have nothing to do, new players have to overcome a mountainous load of grinding for cash AND gold just to finally escape the depressing state of being stuck with basic low-tier belongings, even with these new crapitale missions that pay terribly for all parties. Doesn’t help that new players are easily disillusioned with the amount of missions they need to do, just to have enough gold to buy a role they’ll spend grind through as well. They came to have fun, not take a second job and scrounge up nothing more than pennies for their effort.

 

So, like I said, Rockstar should just shut everything down, and all the energy we waste complaining about their poor management of the game can finally go somewhere better.

Or let a different team take over while they sit back and take their cut from the profits, RDO really has a lot of potential especially for a money making stand point.

It mainly takes place on our computers/consoles, so it has very low overhead for them; it isn't like an MMORPG server

So they'd really never have to shut it down if they got tired of it, since it more or less runs itself. As far as we know, even

things like they Daily List are just set up by random automation. They could leave the thing on and forget about it, not

even bothering with Tuesday updates if they felt like it (which have become very lame anyway.)

 

I'd actually still play if there were no more updates, things like Blood Money are just more things to do.

So there is no reason to "shut it down."

 

It would be easier for them to monetize it in the way of GTAO, I've always been puzzled as to why they did not.

The housing they planned to put in the game at one point, for $ prices which were way too cheap, add those

for lots of gold instead; St. Denis Manor, 6,000 gold, something to shoot for and you know some people would

pay real money for that gold. Just as in GTAO, it could be stuff you don't really need to play the game but people

still buy it.

The only reason why I think we don´t have a roof over our head is that they focus to much on new players! Second problem is that the world is not made for players having a place of their own. Almost all houses are used for either hideouts or mission objectives.

All the more head scratching that they refuse to allow private lobbies so people can play the game with everything working correctly and to be able to avoid modders. Has no impact on R* whatsoever except it could increase the number of people that play. It's a winning situation for R* and the players.

We need an update that just lets us rob stores, trains, hell even banks in Freeroam! (Can't have 'Ruthless' forced garbage that way! And yes it IS forced, having to play a higher difficult to get better pay is forced. It may not be fully forced like those sh*tty Telegram missions but it's still technically forced)

R* need to add more cool stuff to grind/spend for....wagons, different animals for mounts (RDMulti), diamond boots, diamond hats, thats not even counting houses...there are many spots in Saint Denis/Blackwater/Annesburg.  Could just be a room that can be decorated.  They need to add npc gang members to your camp that can accompany you on heist/shootout for a fee...if they die they reset their stats or you simply have to buy another one. Then vets have more fun and newbs are attracted.  Why they dont? Its pure speculation, its the forumla they know works in GTAO.  The more the keep delaying fun stuff for this I am a parrie no mad type stuff...just makes it seem like they are trying to push players into or back to GTAO.  I mean if they really wanted to....they could add hideouts in the side of caves, or other secret areas like bunker or area inside of barns thats invisible, rooms in vanhorn or thevies landing...even a house boat?  The possibilities are really immense on what could be added.

And definitely more weapons...there are many more guns we could potentially get even in 1898...but if they jumped Online forward just a few years, as they did with GTAO, then we could get even cooler guns!

Watch their whole franchise slowly die because they offer no more high-end content until 2030.  It seems so obvious to remake Marston's story since the majority of assets and systems are there.  They already have a proven story.  They could add one subplot that takes him out to Hanover.  And they could then packaged both games together in 2030.

Instead we get horse mustaches, a 3rd monetary system, and fetch quests.

They could outsource all single player skins to create female variants for cheap then release a new skin every week to slowly keep people engaged.  I laugh when I see GTA say "Just log on and you get a free article of clothing and $100,000" compared to RDO.

I haven't played in seriously in months, but come back here to see what's new... and it's like nothing's changed, RDO is skin stretched thin on bones.

Imagine if Rockstar said what they were planning ahead to give people hope instead of dripping out minor updates every week to people's disappointment.   The 3 Roles from last year made it feel like something was moving in the right direction and it's been all down hill since then.

I'm not shy to say that the horses are one of the biggest reasons I play this game, and I am all to pleased to get more horse cosmetics that give us the ability to really make our mounts stand out from the rest of them.

And although some horses do actually have little 'staches, they could have easily passed on those and given us other ways to customize our horses.

 

Maybe giving us other styles of manes and tails, like a close show cut for the mane or a bobbed tail to really show off the muscle in our big boys/girls?

An actual tight braid instead of the free flowing one so that we can show off the thick crests on certain breed's necks? I'd love a crimped style for my Andalusian's mane and tail, Spanish and Italian breeds are beautiful with crimped manes.

 

And don't get me started on the styles and types of tack that they could add instead.  Also why is the collector saddlebag the only one that allows us to hold more than 5 outfits? And the normal bags that aren't outlandish and flashy hold even less, why is that?

I want a boring, normal saddle that gives me the benefits of that flashy nacogdoches saddle. A saddle blanket that really looks good. I want saddlebags that hold all of my outfits that don't look like something from a wild west parade. I want different bridles that aren't locked to a saddle so that I can really customize my setup. At the moment we are kind of forced to use certain items that don't match with everything else just for the benefits, like the saddlebags and the lamp which don't match every set of tack in the catalogue.

 

Our horses are the vehicles of RDO, since car customization is such a big deal for GTA it would only be fair to say that horse customization should be a big deal in RDO.

Would also be nice to add our own stirrups to the custom saddles. The stamina restoration bonus the hooded stirrups give is big to me so I just keep on using the Nacogdoches.

It's all about money. GTAO already sales micro-transaction. Tons of it, until RDO starts making more money, they will ignore it.

Get people to quit playing GTAO or start buying gold bars.

I have 4 horses, they each have their own saddle. That's about all I know.

I did put the fastest saddle and stirrups on my race horse, although I never race.

I put the BH saddle on my BH Horse

I bought 1 horse just because my granddaughter thought it was cute. 

What can you do?

Hmm, I've just accidently found a way to prevent the Alligators from attacking you (when you have to spam B / [] or whatever to break free) when you are going through the swamp areas, just keep pressing A + B on Xbox / PC and X and Square on PS simultaneously as you walk through the water and you won't get attacked...

 

saves trying to use your Horse that stops and buck you and leaves for dead....

I hate that saddle but the one I prefer isn't all that great benefit wise, even with the best stirrups set. I can't remember what that saddle is called though but it's the one with the one cinch across the barrel (belly) of the horse instead of the front and the flank cinches.
