"Soon come" is hilarious.  Rockstar, when will you have any decent content available for RDO? "soon come"

Well, I was putting off re-playing story mode from scratch to pass the time, but its looking even more attractive now.

Story mode is just fantastic especially after being bored sh*tless with nothing new to do with online.  Do it you won't regret it

its almost like rockstar is taunting us. they know that we want new stuff for red dead. yesterday they give us this pathetic month of discounts and bonuses. but not one shred of new content. but the next day. gta online gets another huge dlc. this is so unfair.

Remember that guy several months back saying how great the Blood Money update was and how Rockstar treat GTAO and RDO evenly?

Maybe the no lifers who keep grinding this game with the same old ass content will put the game down for once, i know i did.

If there is another dlc sure i'll come back. i came back for blood money, finished the passes in like 2 days each and played a couple of call to arms and noped out. Maybe i'll play the new call to arms modes but they sure as hell aren't gonna keep me interested til the next dlc drops... if it drops at all.

We could be getting a update where we finish the leclerk story, we could be helping Leigh Johnson restore Armadillo into a thriving town, we could be getting heists. But instead we just get bonuses for money we can't even spend.

It's hurts to say but GTAO in it's current form was the worst thing that ever came out of R*. Sharkcards are 100% the reason why we never received story dlc for Red dead and GTAV.

Just imagine what Red Dead would have been if they quit updating that 9 year old game. Obviously they cannot handle updating more than one game at a time.

I don't think quiting the game will motivate R* to pump more updates. If anything, it'll just show them the game is dead/not profitable.

but dont worry everyone. in an alternate universe today. rockstar released the trailer to a new red dead online dlc. and it opened with. "hey boah" and we see our beloved arthur morgan riding up to our protagonist. and we got a huge dlc with arthur teaching us how to do REAL outlaw stuff. to make up for the trash that was blood money. a brand new gun the buffalo rifle. with new horse breeds. the ability to buy boats. new houses to buy and customize. including mansions in saint denis. and so much more. but dont worry poor gta online fans. you will get some discounts on a pair of boots and some candy. and double money on dead npc money. and as a special treat and one time offer. you can buy a faggio for free. as our gift to you.

just imagine how all of us would react to that. i would love to see the gta online community after that.

The reverse couldn't happen, the size of the GTA community is so huge that the noise would really hurt R* and more importantly, T2's shares.

They know they can take the piss out of the RDRO community because it's much smaller, and because no matter what, enough people will simply accept it and I've even this month event thingy praised as 'fantastic'.

If they did this to GTA:O, the internet would be on fire as shown with the last 2 significant GTA-related issues (with the deluxe edition release and E&E trailer both garnering huge bad press).

They simply can't afford to screw GTA:O like they will with RDRO.

I know some people here who wastes time grinding to +1k gold and +100k cash and went as far as making long posts about the daily life story of their character.

I don't understand why these people still enjoys playing RDO after all these content starve since i already uninstalled RDO few months ago to make room for upcoming releases.

Well GTO update looks cool as usual, if someone told me back in 2018 that RDO will be pretty much over in just 2 years while GTAV and the Online would be Re-Remastered for next gen consoles I would have laughed a little, now is only a sad joke

Anything to see more of Arthur I'm all over it! 😊 And certainly there are some in the GTA community would have a fit in that case, but not all of them. There are quite a few that I know who think that the way that the company is treating RDO is ridiculous.

Personally I am more invested in my character than the game, but that's just how I am. I'm a sucker for creating characters and making stories, and RDO was a perfect storm for me. Just because I am not playing the game like I used to, doesn't mean I've given up on my character. I understand where you are coming from though.

The YouTubers aren’t helping either. They make long videos about how annoyed they are with Rockstar and how the game is dying then do a live stream 2 days later. Just stop playing it and support another game. Rockstar watch these channels as proven when they include Tylarious guide on their website so if they see the big YouTubers abandoning the game it might give them a kick up the arse to get a good update out. It’s free publicity for them that these YouTubers continue to play the game. I’m just waiting for Professionals rant about it then 2 days later he’ll be back playing it.

yes i know that. but i was making a joke about how people believe in alternate universes. so if there is one. then red dead would have gotten all the content. and hey who knows. in this theoretical universe. maybe gta online is doing as bad as red dead is now.

Uh yes, yes it will.

And please, they ain't going to shut down the servers lmao. Hopefully when/if they start updates again, they at least time it so everything's not clustered together. It NEVER needed to be the same month as GTA, GTA has December locked down and *gasp* it has a right to as it existed first and the December update is always designed to sink money. RDO is not and has never been December worthy, just release it in October and hold out on the December stuff until December, they already did that sh*t with Halloween this year!

I'm hoping the gap between updates is cause they finally woke the f*ck up and realized what they're doing is not what people want. Nobody wants role 21-30 of Naturalist and Trader.... well maybe two people but not everyone! Property, Heists, Outlaw content.... it's all been high in demand yet R* just ignores it and hyped up future content like 'Herp pHoToGrApHy! fIsHiNg! hObO sImUlAtOr 1898! Ain't you excited?!'

The daily challenge streaks and collector role broke the economy. People were sitting on thousands of gold bars and like 400k cash before online really started to get going. Beta was ruthless with earning gold and cash. They probably should have stuck with that tbf. So unless they start charging 500 gold bars for a property or 200k cash I don’t see how they could fairly rebalance the economy in the game.

Honestly the only viable solution would be to hit the ‘mulligan’ button. Reset everyone’s cash and then change the exchange rate between gold and cash.

Today's background update basically sets up preparations for the new Holiday-themed Call to Arms playlist. That's more confirmation we won't receive a new title update this month. Otherwise, no need to do that if we were to receive a new title update that would introduce these new modes properly.

Props to @alloc8or for checking out the background update.

I don't watch a whole lot of game streamers, but people actually watch live streamers play this game? Not saying that the funny videos other share, or the guy that sounds like Arthur aren't fun to watch, but what happens when these players live stream this game? Not trying to seem condescending towards the youtubers but I just can't see how anything in this game would be fun to watch someone else do for an hour or so?

It is most of todays damn generation that just chooses to watch people trying to be funny, instead of them having the fun themselves. Devoid of personality and emulating the people who actually do have some.

....

It's very much like spectating a game in person, whether that be video, cards, whatever.

It's also a great way to learn the ins and outs, and particularly the little quirks of a game, and even more importantly you will see for certain whether the game is really for you or not.

I've seen a lot of games that looked cool, the reviews were great, yet after watching a short playthrough I knew I wasn't interested.

That saved me some money.

I watched a couple of people who streamed RDO on PS4 who I particularly liked the personality of (shared sense of humour & interests in game mechanics/philosophy, not to mention tangents about movies, music, etc.) since the game came out and knew after frontier pursuits came out I'd enjoy most of the game. (I play on PC so I had to wait anyway)

If you participate in the stream chat with others who have similar interests it's like hanging out with friends virtually while watching others play.

Back in the early days of video games only 1 or 2 could play at a time, so the others hung out & watched, not much different, and much easier to leave if someone is being obnoxious. 😎

It's kind of like when I watch my husband play GTA 5 so that I can take his game over when he's done and free roam. Lol 😉

My daughter would show me some of those Youtube videos of people playing horror games when I would get stuck and needed to see someone actually show me how to do what I needed done. Honestly they were actually quite entertaining with the things that they would say and do.

Now that Arthur sounding guy, and the guy he gets to do videos with him that sounds like Dutch, those guys are a trip. He did a GTA roleplay video where he was a Sarge type character and I was rolling.

Guess I'm kind of out of the loop but I don't really watch the live streaming videos so I wasn't sure how they worked, I didn't know that you could chat along with people while it was going on.

Also I didn't mean to sound like I was disparaging the Youtubers or the people who watch them. Just wondering if they do something special during the live part of their recording?

Some folks are good presenters and carry things along well with their banter when the on screen action is dull, add interesting/funny commentary, that sort of thing.

The chat can be fun and pretty entertaining, but also there are always douchebags who show up to any live stream and try to derail the proceedings.

If the community for that channel is positive and strong the negativity gets shut down real quick, but with live youtube it's always present.

And there are usually 'stream snipers' who try and wreck the activity in the game, just idiots who try and get views on their own channels by messing with other people's fun, but in the case of RDO a decent sized posse owns them pretty easily.

It's not for everyone, of course, but can be fun and informative.

RDR2 is the 12th best selling game of all time.

How the hell do you screw up its online mode so much, that you constantly push it to the back burner, and prioritize other projects?
How does Zelnick keep saying RDO is performing better than expected in key metrics, but we don't see them allocating enough resources to the game?
How are companies like Ubisoft consistently able to update their games with content the majority of players want and enjoy, but R* can't do the same for RDO?

RDO is my main game, but I'm not playing it. At all.
I look at Tuesday's announcement. It's a long list of "stuff", but not a single one of those things makes me want to play the game.

Holy sh*t, R*
