RDR2 needs an E&E much less than GTA V honestly. I could see a PS5/Xbox Series patch but not a full new release for it. The engine is still recent enough, plus the PC version has solid scalability features (that could be used for the new consoles) versus GTA V which is running on already pretty old code.

Hmm, maybe - we'll probably have a better idea once the timings for today's event week/fortnight are revealed.

 

Might be that it's a similar situation to December 2019, where neither game got an update on Tuesday, but instead GTAO got the Casino Heist on GTAO's typical event week Thursday 12th, and then RDO got Moonshiners on Friday 13th.

Considering we've already heard rumours about the new GTAO update, compared to bupkis about RDO, seems to me that instead of both games doing without as the result of R* diverting resources, it's largely coming at the expense of RDO. Which is pretty damning, if true: imagine RDO being such a low priority for R* that they feel it more important to focus on the Defective Editions than adding anything new to Red Dead...

Rockstar will be announcing RDR2 and RDO for the 9th gen consoles at the Game Awards and it GTAV going from PS3 to PS4 all over again but with RDR2 Spider Vice because that's how R* work and it won't be just a patch they release.

Everyone saying The New GtaOnline update will release next week and this will be the first time R* release GtaOnline update before Reddeadonline update but we have to wait and see

Only thing at game awards happens is GTAO new update announcement/trailer! 
I guess one day R* will release a free 60fps patch alongside a big update for RDO! they know RDR2 is not as popular as GTAV ! it won't sell like E&E! 
If they want to resell RDR2 as a new game like E&E, the should bring something new on the table! maybe with RDR1?

I can't see them do it just yet either, maybe nearer next Christmas if the new consoles sell well this holiday and next year (and RDR2/standalone too naturally. But it all depends on numbers, and R*/T2 are the only ones who know. If they feel too many are still playing on the older gen PS4 era consoles, and those consoles are selling good amounts of gold which is key, they'll not block those off too quickly. 

 

GTA is just in a whole other league of popularity really and that could potentially drive new console sales with how popular it is anyway and with Sony offering it free to start, I'm sure that'll help the game start off on newer gen.

 

Besides, for me at least, RDRO would have to show to offer plenty to see me in any hurry to buy it again. The story mode is truly fantastic but I can play that on both my PS4 and PS5 just perfectly, it'd have to show something significant more than blood money or the like, or I wait and CEX get the cash instead of R*, lol. At least with GTA:O it'll be free for me to see what's up and the history of updates is a huge thing that shows it'll at least get some significant stuff in future.

 

Free + a history of hefty DLC far trump an actual repurchase + no promising signs historically. Unfortunately.

The Game Awards is this Thursday which is on a GTA day but there's no new event week for GTAO until the 14th so I am guessing Rockstar will announce the next gen version of RDR2 / RDO seems it looks like we are not getting a RDO update this month and if we ain't getting an update that means there's something big happening with RDR2 / RDO coming soon and I cannot wait to find out what Rockstar has got planned because an updated version of RDR2 / RDO would be awesome.

Red Dead Redemption 1 Resmaster is coming and could be bundled in with RDR2 and there's been rumours of that happening for a long time now.

Wow when they announced the first 2 week event i thought it was because of a new update announcement!

2 weeks passed and we had another one... I realized that sadly they probably changed their m.o. and from now on we will have 2 week events... 

 

Now i see the first 4 week RDO event... 

They seriously don't give a f*ck.

Why not hire people to work exclusively on the Online component? They have money.

 

Ok Vi is a high maintenance project i get it. But they have money, they can get a studio to work just on this!
