It's better than $100 in RDO- $250k can't buy most cars, but it's enough for some other things. Upgrading a car, buying arcade cabinets, (most) clothing, etc. It's not great, but it's better than 100 cans of beans or a single hat.

I'm not sure how long it's been in game, but the voice lines from Cripps talking about us being lawmen sound very interesting. Hope it's a sign of things to come. 

 

Same goes for the rustling map icons.

Would be really nice if the roles would start progressing. That's what I've been waiting on for a long time. I'm not 30 years old anymore. I'd like to move out of camp and do other business/lawman things before I kick off.

Yeah, hopefully we see our characters sleeping arrangements improve soon! Cripps can keep the camp I won't complain.

I wonder where our numbers were for the last RDO update. I guess I didn't realize this last GTA update was such a big deal. I figured the island heist would have interested more players.

Might have been. But Cripps doesn't say any of those lines in the live version of the game. "I hope your just dressed like a lawman" " You join up with the law or something?" 

 

Sounds more like a lawman outfit or role to me. I will gladly take either!

A lot of people say that it is the best update in last years. They got new property, cars, robberies, reputation system etc.  Meanwhile we got refreshed stranger missions.

Even with all the BS, RDO is far better than GTAO.

If RDO performed good, they wouldn't give as another sh*tty update after 7.5 months of waiting. It's keeping game alive with the lowest effort, just to not admit the failure.

The game is definitely not a failure by any means, but I see what you are saying. I think it boils down to this, either they are working on something big or they really are just keeping this thing on life support for the revenue that it brings in. 

 

Is the December update guaranteed to be a small update? Would be a good time to increase sales for the holidays I would think.

December update will be smaller than Blood Money. I expect a role extension. Trader or Collector. 

 

GTA will get all the attention with the new version on November 11th and big December update.

The game is failing, even the greatest things in the world fail if they are left to ruin. Nobody ever says it's been a failure right out of the gate, the game had so much promise. It still can be resuscitated but that is going to take work on the part of the company who released it, and they seem to be too bored with it to even bother.

 

Personally I don't think they have the means, or the know how to give Red Dead Online a great update, but I would be happy as hell if they made me eat those words.

It's been over 2 and a half years since Red Dead Online came out. We can see Rockstar isn't investing in RDO as much as we want. 

 

By the time GTA Online became 2 years old, it already had all the ingredients that made it click and successfull. Large scale heists, businesses, properties etc. 

 

I think going forward we can expect 2 updates per year on the scale of Blood Money. They are low cost for R*. It's better than to stop supporting it from Rockstars perspective. Minimal investment and resources, a little bit of profit, and not having to admit that Red Dead Online didn't deliver on its promise and potential and in best case only served as a testing ground for systems they want to implement in GTA6 (roles, passes, 2 currencies).

I hope if they add a survival mode they actually put some effort into it. They could have a scenario like when we defend the fort in story mode where you have a ship attacking you from sea, soldiers landing by boat onto the beach, and soldiers attacking by land over a bridge. Each posse member could have a role like someone manning the artillery gun to sink the ship, a sniper taking out soldiers on the beach and close combat at the choke point on the bridge. 
 

Unfortunately I’m worried we will just get a reskin of the Halloween mode but in different locations where we are just attacking waves of npcs with nothing else to it.

R* has no one to blame but themselves for not allowing RDO to reach it's potential. The way they initially talked about where it would go made it sound like they had big plans but they have not followed through. They have not listened to the player base, instead plodding along down a path that they determined is what the players want, forcing players to play R*s way rather than the way the players want.

 

Consumers can tell when a product manufacturer is interested in what they are selling and when they aren't and R* hasn't even tried to feign interest.

 

I also believe all we'll see from now on, through 2022, is more of these mission things and zero character progress. After 2022 is anyone's guess.

Most the new sh*t in this game costs GOLD now, cash is literally worthless! I'm sitting on 20,000 of it from Shine and Trader sales to boost XP for the Passes and hardly ever spend any of it!

That Halloween mode was straight up bizarre. A bunch of non canonical, non verbal, Hare Krishna's running around licking off shots... stupid.

Yes, for example:

 

In the new GTAO update, buying and getting the additions for the Auto Shop (part of the Tuner update) is

 

$4,337,000

 

So it is basically set up to get you to buy Shark Cards, if impatient. Even if a car seems like it is at a good price,

it ends up having been pretty expensive by the time you upgrade it all the way.

 

It is just way easier to make more money than you need, even with two different currencies, in RDO.

The only thing RDO has on GTAO is the looks, the game looks phenomenal, that's about it, it shouldn't be just that but it is.

I have just seen someone on Twitter say "remember people... GTAO was also dead like this during the first two years"

Now even that this is incorrect, let's go with it shall we? Aren't they obligated to deliver a better product now that they have experience with the previous one? Why would you be okay with the same approach? It doesn't make any sense lol

This is of course just based on the false assumption that this is correct, the reality is GTAO had a lot of updates, good updates for what the game was during the first two years as well,  with Heists being the biggest and "I am not a hipster" being a honorable mention.

 

I just remember November 2018 when I whined and complained about this and people were like "dude.. give it time..." and the famous "it's the beta.."

Yeah, gta online actually sensed like a months work of a decent team. This like  a 7 month one by  2 people going nuts out of overwork and stress.

It's not all bad we got yet another useless currency...

 

What is that, four types now? Cash, Gold, Tokens and Capitale...

 

What is next the late 1800s version of bitcoin that none of us knew about..... with nothing to aim for to spend it on and all that...

 

Tokens and Capitale which is spent on items or missions that could have just been unlocked anyway after hitting a certain rank as the tokens give you no benefit to unlock items you don't have the Role rank for anyway, but there we go...

 

Missions to find Capitale to spend it on a bigger mission in which the pay outs are still low but that doesn't matter as nothing to spend it on as everything is inside the Quick Draw passes.
