Today marks the two year anniversary of RDR2/O for PC.   

So 5th November was the OG PC release on Social Club?

I remember I bought it when it was released on Steam 5th December. It's on a sale right now btw, only -33 % off, but it's something if you really want to add it to your Steam library.

I bought it via the launcher for the extra 50 gold, plus I didn't want to wait.

I've added the game to my Steam library so it will handle screenshots, but Steam doesn't track playtime or any other info this way.

That's a good thing, back when RDO had GOOD updates I remember being pissed Moonshiners came out the same timeframe as Casino Heist and the Roles came out the same timeframe as the Casino in general.

 

Hopefully the update's actually good and that's why they aren't putting it within the same time frame as GTA again. If it's just another "Biggest update ever!" lie like the last update, my fingers over the uninstall button!

GTA Online's next update might be really big due to Dr Dre's involvement so maybe they're just getting Red Dead out of the way so they can focus on that

I doubt that someone cares at this point... Nonetheless, I'm very glad you're still keen on informing us about RDO and putting your energy into it.

One? That's completely normal, what do you expect an update every four months? They don't even do that for GTA, they certainly won't be doing it for this dying cow. The winter update needs to be good and actual game cause people are dropping off

If Nov 23 looks likely because the second halloween pass expires on that day, then what about when outlaw pass five expired on June 1 this year? We didn't get the next one (Quick Draw) until mid July, it could very well be an empty two to three weeks before we get the next pass and the winter update this year. 

 

Two week events aren't really a solid confirmation of the next update either, we've had plenty of those in the past with nothing following them.

Moonshiners and the Casino Heist came one day next to each other but the first three roles came a whole month and a half after the casino opened. I don't think them putting out the winter update earlier than usual this year (if it happens) means anything regarding the quality of it.

Yeah, I agree. Gives us a week or two to get the pass completed here and explore whatever content comes before the big one comes, GTA:O's DLC is usually pretty meaty at Christmas.

 

And like you said, if Dr Dre is involved, there's no way either R*/T2 or Dre himself will want any distractions from having people play GTA:O then (Dre because if he's promoting new music/artists he'll want maximum attention, and R*/T2 because they know it's just a huge earner naturally).

They did say that they would have them out until the 22nd-ish, or did I misread what was posted?

Lol, seriously though guys, I thought at first when I saw y'all talking about Dr Dre. I honestly thought he was going to do something for RDRO. I figured that is an odd collaboration? Still wouldn't question it much though, I am itching for anything fresh and new to give this game some life again.

But hey, good for GTAO I guess. Just please make the whole thing less cringe than that LS tuners one, those NPC's are just super annoying.

When was the last time QA beta was updated? Isn't usually updated a month before release?

They stopped doing QA beta updates anymore. It's no longer reflective of the development process.

 

Quite odd move. It could be that Rockstar no longer test out the next update on Steam? One thing I have noticed is that they rolled back qabeta3 on Oct 20th to an old build that was made on June 1st. That probably signaled the start of the final qa testing for the next update.

November feels too early of a release for the next update, also I feel like we should have heard something about it by now if that was the case. Would like to be proven wrong though, although I know it's just gonna be disappointing anyway.

They probably won't get a big name for RDO until they fix their sh*t and give the players what they actually want, bringing them back!

im the same way. people are hyped for this dr dre guy. i dont even know who he is except that he is a famous rapper. and he was in gta before. its funny because im pretty sure rockstar said they no longer wanted to have big names in their games. they started using lesser known actors. and i actually liked that. now suddenly they are adding more famous people again.

 

as for red dead. i dont need a big name either. just adding more content is enough. although it would be cool if some of the classic western actors were still alive. i would love to see them in red dead.

Yeah the whole celebrity thing just don't mean much to me in the grand scheme of things. I just want actual improvements to the game play along with more freedom for my character and more things to occupy myself with.

 

Interestingly enough I wouldn't even know who they would get for a celebrity in the first place?

It ain't like the real "cowboy" celebrities are a big thing anymore, and most of the famous ones are long gone now, rest their souls. 

 

Knowing R* anyways, they'll claim to have a huge country/cowboy celebrity and it'll be someone like, ugh, Taylor Swift or something. *ptooo*

Yeah he was a pretty big name back when I was younger, then he marketed some headsets that sold for a hefty price. I'm not a huge rap fan, never have been, but he was there with some of the better hip hop artists and had some good music. If anyone of you has seen Rango, Timothy Olyphant did a hell of a good voice as a cowboy! Or why not an Japanese who is trying to make the Yakuza a place in Blackwater with gambling and illegal fightclubs! I think yhis would be really cool if they updated Blackwater to be a rival town of St Denis.

Like you, having a celebrity involved is take it or leave it.

 

However, by R* pulling in such a big named celebrity like Dre, compared to the house DJ's the nightclub bought in (with all due respect to them as I quite like that music, lol), plus considering Dr Dre and co are doing the (overrated but incredibly huge) superbowl half time gig early next year, it does highlight just how much GTA has grown as a franchise that it can make a deal between R* and celeb's of that calibre.

 

I don't need names to sell me these games of course, but if RDRO could pull in a huge name (around an event like the superbowl too), it would show that the game is a draw. R* can say 'it's doing better than expected' all they want, but we'll never know what was expected, lol. But if the game is doing so well a Dr Dre level star wants to cut a deal, that'd prove the game's got something about it, you know?

Rango is hilarious, but I think of Deadwood regarding Timothy Olyphant to be fair, Justified too, but it's all about Seth Bullock and co. 

 

If we got another mini Deadwood reunion in RDRO, would blow my mind.

no i really dont like blackwater. its nothing compared to saint denis. and plus saint denis already has a chinatown. so it would be cool if they did like a triads or asian dlc there instead of blackwater.
