I can assure you that Rockstar cares about GOTY awards just as much as they care about RDO community or RDO itself.

Someone apparently found some text attachments or whatever it’s called deep in the files suggesting horse wrangling and rustling. So maybe Clive and his brother will finally open up? Wouldn’t mind this but let’s be fair, that won’t cut the long wait for an update.

I hope it will be something substantial, or even a massive overhaul of RDO which brings us to a question… would’ve been the destiny of RDO different if there wasn’t gold bars and only the cash was monetized while also obtainable like in gtao?

In any case, it'd need to be more like Naturalist in size and scope than Blood Money - new weapons, new catalogue items, new game modes or features. A handful of simple missions and a perfunctory attempt to soak up some of the unspent gold in the economy isn't really enough - certainly not after the drought the game's had since ...Naturalist, really.

 

(imagine the reaction if all they add is a new set of Quick Draw Club passes, with just more wraps, horse accessories, and that's it...  )

Old news. That has been in the files for awhile now.

 

IF they are actually updating this game it has to be a pretty substantial update. If we waited a year for a photographer role I'm going to be mildly upset.

Already on top of that and I'm sending them some ideas. Thought a crossover with their precious GTAO was in order, so here's my first pitch. Tell me what y'all think about this one...

At this point my highest wish is a RDR1 release for PC paired with some news of a new DLC for RDO. Any DLC for RDO would be positive for me since it would show that Rockkstar still has an interest in the game, however small it might be. At least as long as there is a little somthing it gives me hope that we might have more to look forward to later.

The monthly updates paired with total silence and blackout on any other information though is not going to cut it for much longer.

I would love to have a next gen version of this game. That's one of the only reasons I bought a PS5! Honestly if we do get an update this year I expect another role extension and next gen versions.

Something that will get old after a few hours. Maybe 10 more levels for one of the current roles. Joy, joy.

 

You know, I never did one blood money mission but I have over 200 capitale from R* giveaways. Kinda defeats the purpose of introducing something, expecting people to work for it, and then just giving it away.

SteamDB reflects all kinds of development action that is submitted to those platform's servers so any DLC test fix or whatever would've shown as a supposed update to the DLC packs depot. Unless we start seeing those happening every day like GTA V, it probably doesn't mean much.

I know what we won't get:

 

1: Player progression. We'll still be living out of our tent.

 

2: The ability to rob homes, NPCs, banks, trains, etc., and be able to keep what we steal instead of taking the stolen stuff to someone else, like Arthur could.

 

3: The ability to hire others to work for us, not us being flunkies for someone else all the time even though we can buy every city and town in the game.

 

4: Story progression.

 

Those are 4 things off the top of my head.

That's one way to spin out those passes, I guess!

 

Assuming they do Quick-Draw passes again (so four in total, with a possible Halloween pass serving as the fifth), and include one letter per pass, and they go back to the old release schedule of two updates a year, then at that rate we should get through the entire alphabet by the end of 2024...

That's why I preferred to wait on the latest qabeta updates to have confirmation since we got nothing to lose. And yep, it turned out to be nothing new.

 

I knew something was fishy when the DLC depot for the main RDR2 app was updated. Yet for RDO app, it was only the update depot and not the DLC. If we were to assume a new DLC is in development, both apps should receive the same updates to the DLC depot.

 

Anyhow, this appears to be another patch dropping in a few weeks or so to patch security-concerned exploits or bugs.

well im not an expert in all this stuff with qabeta or whatever. but doesn't this mean that if they are doing something with the game they have plans for future content? why update security stuff or whatever if they have abandoned the game?

Could be that they are preparing to release the next gen version and are trying to figure out how to fix the security bugs before they do?
