This lack of character transfer is ironic actually, because one of the reasons why I would have purchased RDO for my PC is because many of the players that I have met away from the game play exclusively on the PC. And since R* is so focused on getting players to gather up and play their games together, it just doesn't make any sense?

I'm not going to make a new character just to play the game with other people.

You guys hyped for them releasing a little content for RDO and locking it behind this new subscription service BS. I knew it was inevitable with rockstars greed they would resort to sub fees eventually on top of nickle and diming everyone; I just thought it would be when GTA 6 released but they couldn't help themselves could they. And you know for a fact Red Dead is next.

Unless R* looks at memberships as a way to funnel money out of players (given the broken economy) and thus give them a reason to invest in the game again.

They can apply the membership if they want, but considering that the majority of people are upset at this subscription sh*t, it’s not gonna change anything for the better.

RDO+ before a major DLC or char transfers would be the icing on the cake for R*'s RDO support.

 

Dunno whose been abandoned more, me as an RDO player by R* or my poor character whose been camped proooobably somewhere in Lemoyne for a year and a half now. Poor girl.

For one, RDO is far from being complete enough to drive me to want to invest anymore money into it. Don't get me wrong, I would love to purchase content that would add to my experience in game. But R* has not shown me enough to trust that if I did pay into their service that they will be able to offer me anything worth my money in return. 

They want me to buy into a subscription service they had better step up not only the quality of their content, but they need to speed up the process for which they release these updates and also do a hell of a better job communicating with their players. If I pay a monthly or yearly fee, I am going to be expecting more from them than I am now.

No doubt. And I have been waiting for some real stuff to actually buy into the gold bars and spend money on this game but with the state that RDO is in now, I wouldn't pay them a dime.

Its funny how they wont have the sub fee for PC but wont say the real reason. Because hacking on pc in rockstar games is worst than any game ever and they would probably make a mod menu that could see who is a gta+/rdo+ member and give them extra hell any sever they joined. Still rockstar would rather leave out PC than actually try to fix the problem goes to show where their mindset is.

Well, pollsters only sample about 1500 people out of 350 million and that's a lot smaller than 1% and they claim they can determine what everyone else thinks from that tiny sample size.

Bad publicity eventually spreads into the mainstream if it persists long enough! GTA Online & its monetization value for the company has already become a meme.  Rockstar's traditional solution has always been ignore the problem and hope that it goes away. It obviously works for them! But it can have long-term consequences. Companies like EA have a very difficult time overcoming their negative image. CDPR (Cyberpunk devs) will spend the next half a decade repairing theirs; although the new Witcher game announcement was a great distraction. Ubisoft's in a spot of bother. These past couple years haven't been kind to T2 in the PR department, but like CDPR, they do have another popular product to fall back on! GTA 6 - their saving grace. Even if the most scandalous articles came out just on the eve of that game's launch, I have a feeling it'd still break sales records haha. But they are clearly conscious of their public image because they recently followed other companies in suspending sales to Russia, how very virtuous and noble of them. 

 

Edit: if only they'd stop off-shoring their profits and began to pay their corporation taxes in the UK

It's a damn tragedy that this game got left for dead. I had huge hopes for things such as robberies, heists, time progression, but it all seems unlikely right now. It's not impossible that we'll get good things, but yet they seem so far away. I don't know what to believe about online anymore, but I know that we'll survive this, because we've waited longer for less before
