I hope so too. They were focused on E&E and the GTA trilogy for a while, now when E&E is out soon I think we can start looking forward to RDO again. That is just wishful thinking on my part with some common sense. They can't keep prioritizing remasters

With the GTA6 announcement I doubt this is even possible.  And even if it was,  it could be assigned to a group of people that are even worse than what we have now.

I still doubt we are going to get any "new updates" for the "8th generation" of consoles...
They focus solely on high end PC and 9th generation consoles (XBox series X and PS5)
Like they did with GTAV updates on XBOx 360 and PS3.

That would be an absolute f-job because the updates put out on GTAV for the 7th gen were pretty substantial.  The last 3 that they received were the Heists updates and the Ill-Gotten Gains parts I and II.

but stuff they missed....Lowriders, Organizations ("VIP" update), Finance and Felony (CEO), Bikers, etc.

I won't sit here and say "hey, it should be the same amount before ditching", but it seems like that 7th gen version had a lot of stuff come to it and it's way more than RDO.  What I do see is them ditching simply because of time since launch and when 7th gen was dropped (which was roughly 21 months - Oct 2013 to Jul 2015) and the technology gap they could be focusing on.  The hardware Red Dead is running on is almost a decade old (since launch, actual age probably older) when it comes to the 8th gen system and the online game has been online for almost 36 months.

So yeh, they'll Save RDO alright....on 9th gen.

I wouldn't want anything too fancy for my guy, just a place for him to rest his head and call his own, oh and 100 acres to pasture all of the horses that I'm going to buy. His house is going to be small because the barn to fit those horses is going to take up all of the room, lol!

Discord is a lot better, but a lot of admins I’ve seen over recent years revel in banning new people, and to go so far as blocking new contributions unless they add their cellphone numbers for security. That being said, I do use Reddit now and idgaf about karma, so actively contribute to the hidden activity at the bottom of posts because that’s where the juice usually is. Better to have a stimulating albeit insulting conversation  than one where everyone just circlejerks OP to farm fake internet points. It wouldn’t matter so much if input wasn’t hidden, but it is and that’s where I draw the line. It’s counterproductive asf. I’ve always appreciated GTAF having some actual civility.

If that is true that Tez2 said about updates takes a 6 to 12 month to complete we only going to get a big one in December hopefully or summer next year!

Honestly I would be ok with the big updates being so far apart. It would seem so overwhelming if I had to jump from one big update to another so quickly. But, on the other hand that doesn't mean that I would not appreciate some small to medium sized additions to the game during that time. It's the little things that would make a difference, like new saddles or if anything, some cool decor we can add to personalize them, new horse coats for each breed, some new clothes would be great, things to make our wagons look different (so we can have an honest delivery wagon or even make ourselves a prairie schooner--covered wagon) etc.

 

RDO has literally become the dust bowl of online games, and it doesn't look like the drought is ebbing away any time soon.

I still remember the first and only time I saw a "rescue moonshine buyer" mission and that was when everyone was put into a solo lobby by themselves for a good while. Never saw a mission like that again. I had no idea those were even a thing.

so, now the gta "enhanced" fiasco is released, "surely" red dead online is getting it's well deserved updates and new "content". man i just can't XD, will refrain from posting in this thread lol, i got nothing, and in a way, because i got nothing, i feel connected to R in a much deeper level now.

R* learned me, you can sell thin air to a select few.and keep on doing it. they will line up, week after week, and still stand in line when nothing happens.

Sure you can speculate all you want. But ain't gonna change the fact that we are nearring 250+ days of no updates at all, not even a bug fix.

So at the end they neglected RDO for the sake of E&E and the release is.... a little disappointing... as expected i guess, and now they need to keep working on E&E because after all this time to test and prevent problem, it still came with some bugs and problems, so is kinda justifiable that they keep this game neglected for more time, until E&E works properly..... lol RDO existence is a tragedy and a comedy

I don't give a f*ck about some dumb skins in outlaw pass I want something interesting!  

My guess is RDR2 E&E + a dumb update is coming in summer or since they already released RDO standalone, they are gonna give RDR2 60fps 4k patch for free for next gen consoles + a dumb update!

GTA6 is going to shatter release day records, that's where all the money is right now.  I doubt they would assign their best or even their worst to RDO so your 3rd option is probably the most likely.

No idea - on the one hand, "Expanded & Enhanced" is out, so that's theoretically manpower that could get reassigned back to RDO.

 

On the other, if those people have been spending extra months getting "E&E" ready after the delay from November (which probably explains the lack of a December RDO update: next-gen GTA was lagging behind schedule, so people got pulled off RDO to get it over the line), and GTAO needs the usual summer update, then it might be RDO has to make do with slim pickings again, or worse.

 

IMO, the ideal outcome would be closer to July 2020: a more substantial update for RDO, with some proper new thing of substance, new weapons, new catalogue items, and all that good stuff, while GTAO gets a more modest update like the Summer Special (which still had a perfectly decent set of missions and cars - just not a whole business, new properties, celebrity cameos, etc.). At any rate, I reckon Rockstar is probably going to stick to the same July/December releases as the last few years, so we're still a good four months away from finding out whether RDO is going to get the shot in the arm it needs, or if it's being left to wither on the vine at this point.

So they delayed E&E (which they aren't even calling E&E anymore lol) for 6 months for... what exactly? This is, especially compared to the work that went into the PS4/XB1 version, an extremely lazy looking port, which according to the execs they don't do! lol

 

After the trilogy and now E&E and the continued neglect of RDO (along with their current "don't communicate with our fanbase" attitude), to the fact that since GTA5 they've put out 1 new game, I've really lost a lot of the respect I had for them as a developer. GTA6? Honestly don't really care at this point.

I need to stay off of there. It's like one of those filthy lavatories in parks where anything goes. "Hey, look at this turd i smeared!" or "who has the bigger genitalia" posts or whatever, and that's just the 'hot' content! Every creative piece gets like one or two comments or likes and that's it, overshadowed by controversial or repetitive unmoderated reposts. Maybe one or two will drop in to annihilate the OP for good measure. Sure, it's the internet but like this sh*t gets promoted. Your average joe asking for help on some hardware issue on r/gaming gets roasted but ig that's the trend? I just prefer more constructive discussions. The backstab posts are completely pointless and time well wasted. I try not to chip in but it's hard not to vocalize the absolute idiocy! I only use certain subs to get weekly info and that's it. If i get pulled into some name-calling argument when the topic inevitably devolves, i won't even reply, and that seems to trigger the anger more than anything - sorry i see my time better used elsewhere than barking at strangers...?

 

 

On topic:-  Those color variants for some of the Quick Draw Pass items SilentCore showcased a few months back, you guys think we'll ever see them? Aren't they in the game already? Are they saving them for another Pass perhaps? Why add/create clothes to your game if you aren't going to add them to the catalogue? What possible reason is there to stagnate a tunables change? Especially with the tight-lipped attitude over the hashtag you'd think maybe they sprinkle some exclusive items about now. I suppose the designers have already been paid for creating them so Rockstar don't actually need to release them ever... just seems like wasted ventures.

I used to have fun with the RDR2 Facebook group, but it started to get more and more negative like that as well (like most of Facebook itself) so I quit the site, honestly it was a great decision on my part. All of the poor people just asking simple questions being attacked started to get to me.

For example, my favorite moment was when I was discussing getting another copy of RDR2 and was attacked for having the gall to own multiple copies of a game?

So I let them post and stew over it for a bit before I gave my reasoning for doing so.

When I admitted that originally I had only pre purchased a standard copy of the game and I wanted to upgrade to the ultimate edition for the horse most of the angry posters stopped responding, although some came on and apologized politely for being so prudent and judgmental without knowing everything. It didn't bother me either way, I just don't understand why me being able to own multiple copies of a video game would be enough to warrant such a response from so many people? It's not like I was buying the same copy, I was upgrading? 

 

Social media at it's finest I guess. *shrugs*
