There's a reference with the blue one if you look hard enough and played a specific N64 title years ago...

Right on! Rush 2 was my childhood game that I played beyond everyday.

I never thought I'd really take notice of stuff like early 2000's Impalas, late 90's-05 Cavaliers and Sunfires or 90's Mustangs (especially 99-04's) when I'd see them... or be legitimately jealous of the one person in town that not only still owns and drives an '86 Chevy Celebrity, but one that's actually in good shape... but these days I do. It's kind of a strange feeling.

Anyway, I have two of these. They're both the same except for color and wheel choice.

i feel the same way whenever i see a early 90s lincoln towncar. theres a shop near me that touches up older cars near me and they have mustangs from 90s and before, 70s pimpmobiles, 70s muscle cars. I just wish i can test drive them all

I laughed to myself because my grandparents had 2 '86 Chevy Celebrity from new.  The station wagon version was finally sent to the great scrapyard in the sky 4 years ago after 4 owners but only 75k miles.  At the end we just couldn't get parts.

I can see that because before I never really noticed cars like Geo Metros and Prisms, Ford Escorts, Daewoos or the once abundant K car derivatives (one of which we had). Now if I see one in a parking lot that's in good shape I'll stop and look at it for awhile because they've pretty much all disappeared and most others that are still running are in deferred maintenance territory and soon to break down for good.

Hands down my favorite car from this update. I do wish you can make it look like the previous gen mustangs but other than that it’s great.

Can someone please let me know if changing to a non-stock spoiler increases traction on this car, or is this one of those cars with performance flags or whatever that gets traction some other way? The traction meter is maxed out so I can’t tell if there’s a difference between stock and non-stock spoilers.

Every car benefits if the selection in its spoiler option is something other than the base item in the list. (Whether or not that item actually is a spoiler. Also some vehicles have a different category stand in for the spoiler option, giving a traction benefit.)

Indeed what SummerFreeze says. So if you want the 'stock' spoiler with the traction increase you'll have to go for the secondary colored one and paint it in the same colour as what your primary colour is.

I thought there were some cars that got traction boosts in other ways, rather than from the spoiler (or whatever user-addable part).

This is exactly what I was hoping to be able to avoid doing.

There are definitely some cars where the default spoiler or even no spoiler sees no traction increase from changing them.

Yeah, that's what I meant with the last sentence. Like the Kamacho and Esskey for example can get a traction benefit from a category other than spoiler.

If you are referring to cars with downforce, changing the spoiler doesn't show on the in-game stats, but anything other than the first item in the spoilers list increases traction.

I don't call it stock spoiler because there are some cars like the Comet SR, which come with a spoiler that is the second item in the list. So the first item (no spoiler) doesn't increase traction. It's the other way around for the Krieger, where the stock fins don't increase traction, but removing the fins does (second item). So what's consistent is that the first item in the spoiler category doesn't increase traction, and any other item does, even on cars that don't show a change on the in-game stats.

I understood what you meant. That’s why I parenthetically added “or whatever user-addable part”.

Broughy1322 confirmed to me via Twitter that there used to be some cars, such as the RE-7B, for which adding an aftermarket spoiler made no difference. But this was apparently changed at some point, so now those cars do get a benefit from an aftermarket spoiler, or whatever other part.

I think that’s what I was remembering…I take such long breaks from this game that often I miss important changes.

Yeah R* being R* first had it that adding a spoiler on those had benefit, then it didnt and a few updates later it reverted again. 🤦 Gave him a real headache those few updates. 😅

Is pretty much impossible that rockstar employees are not aware of broughy at this point, some of these nonsensical stuff they made just to annoy him im sure. Expect a car with an orange globe oil livery in the next updates.

If i worked at rockstar i would make a globe oil orange livery and name it "adam's special"

What is the significance of an orange Globe Oil livery?
