No telling. As someone who edits handling on the regular, it is so easy to make these cars drive... just right. Like it's literally just rearranging some numbers and maybe taking 30 seconds to assess the way something drives. They must have some underpaid moron working the handling.metas for this game because literally anyone could do a better job than his/her ass.

Or could it be that the handling isn’t moronic at all, that it’s deliberately intended that all cars don’t handle perfectly? That, as in the real world, cars have different strengths and weaknesses?

Is still possible to mantain this pattern without throwing logic out of the window. The convertible is faster in every single aspect than the coupe, there is no area in which the coupe is better, which is the exact opposite of how it should be. In my view the convertible should have the exact same stats as the coupe, including the rev limiter flag, so that way both cars would be the same.

Performance never had much sense in this game, i understand it, but when it comes to two variants of the same vehicle almost every single time they both behaved the same or the convertible/four door/armored was slower.

🤨 What exactly are you getting at? The handling is bizarrely inconsistent, and you're insisting that was deliberate? Let's pretend it was. Okay... well it's sh*t. Period. If anyone deliberately made cars handle this way and was this deliberately poor at judgement then they're on bath salts. But that is hard to believe. Because there is no point to it. And the comparison about real world cars that have strengths and differences, uh no. It doesn't quite work that way. You buy a 991 Carrera 4S Coupe and then a 991 Carrera 4S Cabriolet. The Cabriolet is not going to be better at anything. At all. it might be better at the driving experience from a subjective point of view, open top and all of that, but it's not going to be better than the coupe from an objective point of view. But the engineers have made sure it gets close and that has only gotten better over the years with convertibles, but unless it's a carbon fiber monocoque it'll never be equal.

I think it is very much fair to say that if they programmed these cars right to be consistent, not perfect (nobody's asking for that) everyone would enjoy them more. If I was asking for perfection then I'd ask for them to make it handle like an F1 car.

Well if you want to get into a specific car vs another specific car, that’s one thing. I didn’t see any specific cars mentioned in what I quoted, you just said “these cars”, so I thought you were talking about cars in GTA in general. And no, you didn’t ask for perfection, you just said “drive just right”. Which sounds to me like asking for perfection…because if something is nothing other than right, it seems to me it would be perfect. But perhaps that’s just my interpretation, perhaps you didn’t mean that “just right” is literal perfection.

You want to pick two cars to say GTA car handling is moronic, ok. Whatever. I stand by what I said, which was a very general statement.

I feel like this thing is missing something else like a roll over protection device or something.

Actually the roll over protection on 911 cabrios are retractable, only to be deployed if the car's sensors detects and roll over...Though they can also be deployed if something crashes on it's rear.

But the real problem of this car in the game is the lack of detail on the frame of windshield, it's simply too abrupt and lacks detail in the game, the real deal features a bulky and reinforced frame of the windshield since said frame has to sustain the weight of the car in a roll over scenario without collapsing and killing the driver and passenger.

So these are my S2 and Cabrio, both custom-made for me.

The S2 features the RGB of Util Dark Silver on the shinier epsilon texture, with the same color on the stock wheels. It also has the Rock N’ Roll Legends livery.

I usually prefer clean Carrera builds and avoid Turbos and GT3s, but these Blade wheels gave me serious 993 vibes. And it made me remember this big, 1/18 scale model 993 Turbo in yellow I had as a kid. Still to this day don't know what happened to it, but it inspired this 993 Turbo-ish retro build :D I'm keeping it.

PS: finally my iFruit custom plate order that I'd made months ago came through.

I’ve made a new Comet S2 Cabrio to replace the Acid Green one I shared earlier. This one is Lava Orang4 and was inspired by a Porsche ad I came across.

I've been dying to get that Rock n' Roll Legends livery on my regular S2 for ages.  I'm on Xbox and would love to get it.  So, how'd you get it, good sir?  Solo, preferably.

I have it on one of my S2's. I can't believe it hasn't been released yet!

Basically you need to find a working merge glitch, from there it's simple. Each car's livery selection corresponds to a number, these can be found easily on GTAWiki or such. Find a car with the same number or more liveries than the Comet. They need to be accessible in-game, the Hotring Racer for instance has 25 liveries.

So find the number of the Rock N' Roll legends livery and then buy a car to merge, apply the livery with the number that is the same as the Comet's Rock N' Roll legends livery, from there you merge that car with a Comet and you'll have the unreleased livery. I did this to get the Martini 935K knock off livery too

It’s custom-made, meaning created on a PC and imported to console (PS4 in my case) with glitches. One person can do it but it requires two consoles and accounts, not to mention special software on the PC to allow any option in the car model to be selected.

Really ain't that complicated. Just get a car with the livery that corresponds to the hidden one and merge it. No PC program required.

It is that complicated if there’s no car-to-car merge. And there is no car-to-car merge at this time.

There is a merge from car to service car in an Auto Shop, meaning one of the customer cars in an Auto Shop you’re supposed to service, repaint, modify, and deliver. You can merge a car to it, then buy the result. However, I have never seen nor heard of a Comet S2 being a service car. That doesn’t mean they can’t be, just that I’ve never been aware of it.

If you do know of a full car-to-car merge, go ahead and post a link to it. I know there are a great many players who would love to find out about it.

I know that the livery is at number 15.  Can easily access it with a Hotring Sabre, but... yeah.  No service car has 15+ liveries.

Ahh, sorry was unaware. Last time I played was before they neutered all the tuner cars. I hopped on for a little once after thinking Id buy the new Aston Martin but I was so disappointed in the performance of my S2 that I just played a different game. In that case, I guess it's hard at the moment.

I always would go on merging sprees when I could so I've had my secret livery cars for a while. I miss the days of the easy as hell arena merge.

Hmm. Wouldn't it even make sense, because the roof of the cabrio is lighter than the regular one? Making a car lighter makes a car also faster in a straight line, right?

Convertibles are rarely lighter than their hardtop counterparts. First of all, most convertibles have additional chassis stiffening to counter the increased flex due to the reduced structure. Secondly, the convertible top weighs a bit, too. For example, the current Porsche 911 Carrera (EU spec) has an “unladden weight” of 1,580 kg, whereas the 911 Carrera Cabriolet’s figure is 1,650 kg, according to Porsche’s own website.

No because when you take a roof off a car, you remove a lot of structural rigidity so you have to counteract that with a stiffer and heavier frame/unibody. Even then the weight of the convertible mechanisms will add another couple hundred pounds to the weight so there is no real way for a convertible to be lighter than its hardtop variant.

But wasn't that still a hard top? This is a soft top. Maybe i just overthinking tbh.

The motors to make the convertible top move + the chassis reinforcement + the rollover protection bars + in the case of porsches specifically the system to make the rollover bar releases makes up for the reduction of weight for the removal of the roof.

All 911 convertibles have been soft tops. Either way Porsche has been pretty good at stiffening their convertibles but it's still not as good as the hard tops, and just a tad bit slower in a straight line

Thanks. Tbh, this helped alot for my mind. Even the other stuff of the other dudes helped to. But the combination was priceless for my head right now.
