Can't remember if I posted in this topic, but after I got my S2 Cabrio I changed my RT2000 into a turbocharged beach buggy. Stripped it down, put an oversized obnoxious spoiler on it, some off-road wheels and tires and the roadster roof.

Cool new visual upgrade I stumbled upon last night for the RT3000. I was aware this mod was available but wasnt it only on PC this was doable? Nice for them to add this to the console versions of the game.

Anyone know what is up with the disc brakes on this thing? I just won it off the wheel to replace the old one I had (even though I got that one from the car meet prize ride it bugged out and let me sell it for over 1 million) and the disc brakes are silver on this one while my previous one had light blue disc brakes. Thing is I have no idea how they got that color and nothing I do seems to allow me to change the current color of the brakes. I've seen pics in this thread of even more disc brake colors so I figure theres gotta be some trick to it or something. 

 

Another weird thing is the camo engine option is just different shades of grey when on my last RT3k it was bluish camo (same thing on my Remus, bluish camo).

 

sh*t like this annoys me lol, anyone have any idea what's going on?

The color of the brake calipers is selected in "Accents" in the Respray category.  For engine options the valve covers color can be selected to match the car's primary or secondary.  Same with the cambelt covers.  Can be selected to match the car's primary or secondary.  Hope this helps.

So the gauge color coresponds to the disc brakes on this car? wow lol, leave it to R*. As for the engine I wasn't talking about the primary/secondary options, I was referring to the camo engine livery and how on my previous RT3k it was blue camo colors and now on this car it's just black white and grey (on my Remus it's also blue camo).

I've only seen the black white and grey camo you're describing.  This is the first I've heard of a blue camo engine livery.

The fact that it was like that on any tuner car I bought with the camo engine option made me think that was how it was supposed to look lol, I'll snap a pic of my Remus in a bit to show you what I mean.

@Lamborghini518 Here's what I was talking about, maybe a bit less "blueish" than I thought but still has a noticeable blue tint to the camo, my old RT3k was the same way:

But I mean who knows, now the titanium exhausts and the blue latch hood pins all look washed out and faded too so whatever I guess lol.

 

Edit: and I finally checked out the accent color like you said and sure enough lol, explains the light blue on my last one as I had diamond blue as my gauge color, thanks again.

Ok I dunno why I forgot to check this last night but after leaning that the calipers on this car are set by the accent color I started to wonder if that engine camo tint was also effected (both this car and my Remus both used diamond blue for the gauges) and sure enough after setting the calipers as lime green the engine is now green camo, I bet the same thing applies to the Remus too.

 

Weird but kinda cool now that I know I can alter the engine livery color on a couple cars lol, checked the skulls livery too and that one is effected as well.

 

Edit: yeah same thing with the Remus, gauge color changes the engine livery color, the calipers on the Remus are still set by the secondary color though.

 

Edit 2: the accent color on the Remus also changes the color of the Annis badge on the emissive grill lol.

One of the neat things about this is that even with sold roofs on the car still thinks it's a convertible so when you "put the hood down" the windows go down, and you can put them back up as well.

The Japanese sure know how to build a good roadster/covertible :D I don't remember what the nerf changes were but whatever. It's still an absolute hoot to drive, always puts a smile on my face. Plenty quick enough for cruising, but who needs speed when this thing goes sideways so enthusiastically and so easy to recover? (at high speeds it's a bit loose though...)

I so want them to turn this into an actual function for all the other cars with fixed roofs...Cycling through in-car weapons so I can get my middle finger out, just to roll the windows down, then having to go to LSC to put them back up, is just annoying.

The function is there so I don't see why it would be hard. Even if it's not on a button, an option in the Interaction Menu would be fine. Why does my roofless roadster like the D10 spawn with the windows up, and I need to smash them to "put them down"

The problem is that they would need to create specific animations for the windows to roll up and down on each car, and this is the kind of effort that they will never do for old cars, maybe for newer cars but 100% not for old ones.

 

Granted, if they would go through the effort of doing that then this would work on pretty much every single civilian car in the game since the button mapping for it is free on them all(on PS4, it's pressing and holding the right d-pad button).

Having them sink into the door and back a little bit could be a universal animation, just have them vanish when the animation ends to reduce clipping. Or, via the Interaction Menu method just have them vanish when it's clicked and reappear. They could even do this with the button press, they magically vanish as it is now when you stick your finger out of them.
